0^0 read me (it's your favorite missionary) As always! This email will probably be woefully inadequate at both filling you all in, and also at spiritually filling you all up. But I try my best:) We have two people on date for Baptism!!! Which is so exciting. Despite all of my struggles with... well... everything, I am so grateful for all the miracles I see. Those two friends are Ariel and Flick. Flick is the daughter of a recent convert named Jenifer. And I love them both so much<3 when I first met them, I got the most amazing deja vu ever. It felt like I had met them before.  Ariel is also my favorite. Just. AHG! I love her. She is so wise, and she literally already knows so many gospel truths without ever being a member. She just learns it from the spirit! Every time she talks I am so impressed by her amazing faith and knowledge.  I don't know if you can, but I highly suggest you all look up "conversion of a catholic" it's a story about someone who was conv...

Are you Drawing a Dinosaur? Hey you allll! How's it going! Good luck to everyone with school starting or started! ๅŠ ๆฒน Did you know I love being in Taiwan with my whole heart? here are a few of my reasons๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ This week as we were biking home and trying to stop everyone on our bikes (turns out to be hard, hard, hard) we started talking to this lady on this bike! We talked for a little bit and then she said let me treat you! She pulled out the stuff that she had literally just bought at the 7 and gave it to us! Including milk and bread! Thats not all though Later that week we stopped this lady who radiated love! She had no interest in hearing our message but as she turned to walk away she said do you want bread? And then pulled out the bread she had just bought at the bakery! I love bread, I love the people here, I love God! ๐ŸžHo, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without...

SUPER CRAZY๐ŸŽ‰ Hello team!! First off I want to say I LOVE YOU!!! ALSO I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY OF JESUS CHRIST!! There's this youth song we listen to and it says "what is this joy" and that line just gets stuck in my head because even though it can be so hard the joy is SO real and I LOVE IT!! But it seriously all comes from Jesus Christ!!  This week I left my home and family in Tainan and came back home to TAIZHONG ๅฐไธญ, ๅคชๅนณ!!!As soon as President told me I was going to Taiping I seriously felt a rush of happiness and I know its God's plan and I'm so excited to see all the miracles!!! I have been told though that Taiping is famous for being mean and being the headquarters of weird... haha but no worries we got to keep it interesting๐Ÿฉท Oh another cool thing is that I'm ward sharing with my friend Elder Ayden Christensen! He's dying along with my companion Sister Lonergan so it will be a miracle filled transfer!!! This week the lord taught me about families...

1st Week in the Field Kia Ora Im out in the field and it is crazy different. On thursday we drove down to the mission home and i met up with my trainer elder o'riordan. Hes super cool and a great trainer and he an aussie ๐Ÿชƒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ. He is super keen to go out snd do the work and i am too so its great Bad news. I dont have a car. So for the past 3 days we have been walking everywhere which is hard on the feet and legs. But i got a bike today, i stole it from another elder (not really, he just has a car so hes not using it) so hopefully that will help our legs out. The first day we did some door knocking and we even got a return appointment with this lady called Amy. Shes super nice so we came back, but she was sick so we will have to try again. On sunday i got to meet all the members at chruch which was nice and we had a dinner with one of the members. The dinner was crazy, there were like 5 main dishes. They had made lasagna, pasta, short ribs, potato casserole, and a bunch of other s...

He will not suffer that we should fail Hello hello hello!! I'm real out of time but let me tell you one story real fast!! This week we have been urgent in our finding! We have put lots of time on the street! And very few people have had interest! SO MANY PEOPLE said ไธ็”จ or ไธ้œ€่ฆ (don't need) there were lots of buddhists or people who were already Christians! There was one person who said we were not real Christians because we read the Book of Mormon and one person who literally ran away from us! On top of that both of our progressing friends started struggling with opposite things! And neither of them came to church! I was sitting in church feeling pretty discouraged! When our member came to us and said this is your friend! The problem was I had no idea who it was! We talked to her some more and she was 19 and her mom had told her to come to the church over here! It was definitely a miracle!! And hit right at all the points that we have been reading this week in CFM!! Surely God...

ๅคงๅฎถ้ƒฝBๆ‹œๆ‹œing๐Ÿก 8/19/24 Pronounced dajia dou be baibai- ing or in other words everybody is Baibaing which means worshiping!! This lunar month is the climax of baibai-ing and they have a lot of taboos so it's been crazy how many people we see baibai-ing! Also very very cool! Yesterday we were going out and we saw someone and they told us that today they were going to baibai and we were like oh cool! And then we walked out and there was tables and tables of food and fake money and it was crazy!! He really was going to baibai๐Ÿ˜Ž Haha I don't know how to make that make sense so sorry if it doesn't make sense๐Ÿค” Another sad thing this week was it was my last sports night so I had to say bye to my best basketball friend An-Dog!! I seriously love her. She's still meeting with the yong yi elders so pray for her! This week we had some really good lessons! We also had the chance to go to 3 different night markets! On saturday we went to a night market to visit a bujiji less active me...

The MTC is definitely getting old. 8/12/24 Kia ora everyone. Its crazy that its already been the 2nd p day at the new zealand mtc. Im more then halfway dome with my time here at the mtc so thats exciting! After elder wihongi left last week and we invited elder richardson into our trio and that has been good. It took a little for him to get used to a trio but we are all having a great time now!  The days are getting repetative haha. We wake up and eat and exercize and then study. After study we do door knocking practice and then eat lunch and then after that we have classes until dinner and after dinner we have classes until bedtime lol. Classes can be boring especially with some of my teachers. No offense to sister T hahaha.  We got to go to the temple on thursday and that was super fun. The hamilton temple is really small and really pretty. Plus its full of old people haha.  Today we got to go to the mall which was a major blessing. After being in the mtc these pa...

Firefighter Hennessey 8/12/24 What's poppin, brand new area just hopped in. Ya boy is now finally in Johannesburg! I'm an hour away from the office still but hey! I'm now in Tsakane, it's another ward hallelujah. And boy it's been hectic. My posterity moves on: I finally have a son! Not literally... that would get me sent home but I'm training! His name is Elder Marzan and he's from the Philippines. While I'm doing that I'm living in the living room of my ZLs flat whitewashing/kinda opening an area. There's 4 of us Elders in Tsakane but they are making us start our half from scratch so it's been a Grind.  Firefighter Hennessey:  Yeah soooo we had a braai (South African BBQ) with the Elders Quorum for an activity. It's been dry as can be here so the field is dry and dead at the chapel. And just everywhere for that matter. We went inside the chapel to pray and all that while the charcoals started up in the braai stand. We came outside to ...

I think the rat wants to be your friend 8/12/24 This was my opening line to a man who took my book of mormon and said he would come to church, 《I think the rat wants to be your friend 》 But in French obviously. He thought it was funny because the rat was jumping around his feet  Another good line I used this week: "Is your dog nice "? "Yes" (The dog was not nice) Ow  The dog bit me and my comp lol.  I love being a missionary and hitting 9 months was wild  Love you all ! Sล“ur Koger God loves you ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- a transfer of miracles and prayers 8/19/24 Hello all you BEAUTIFUL people I hope you're all doing well and have had an amazing week This transfer has come to an end and it's the end of my lille/northern France era because I'm going back to Paris !  Something my companion and I have been doing this transfer is at the beginning of each week we would set a miracle goal, something that our area...

The 5th lesson is how to play ๐Ÿ€ Hey Team!!! Happy FATHERS DAY!!! It was Father's day on Thursday this week because it was 8/8 which means Dad in Chinese sooo therefore happy Father's day part 2! Here's a cool miracle that happened this week! On most monday nights we go to a couples house to teach them a quick English lesson and then have a lesson with them. This week we had the quick thought to share a scripture with them. As we were reading the wife looked up and asked what it meant when it said, "these words were given by angels" I honestly just opened my mouth and told her it meant us. Haha I was not really expecting to say that because I didn't know if that was true but I was surprised by how much I felt the spirit as she just happily took what I said and kept reading and then afterwards she told us that it was true, that we were angels who came to their house. The spirit was so so so strong and you could feel the love so strong. I feel so so blessed to...

☀️you are my sunshine☀️ This week as we headed to interviews (which have I ever told you that my mission president is an inspired servant of God!? Because he is!!) But anyway across the street from us was this man! He starts talking to us so I stop but I'm not sure what he is staying until he stops shimmies a little and screams/sings/bellows/growls "you are my sunshine" paused for a breath "my only sunshine" paused because I think he forgot the lyrics "you'll never know dear how much I love you" paused for dramatic effect "please dont take my susnhine away" and I didnt even get it on video ๅคชๅฏๆƒœ  On another note ๅЉๅง (our 75 year old friend prayed!!) This is monumental!! Because we have been meeting with her for two months and everytime we have asked her to pray she has said somthing more like the Zormaite peoples prayer or at least she just recites what is on our flier that teaches how to pray! Recites after what we say! Or interrupts herse...

Hello hello! I was planning on writing an email, and then I decided not to cuz I wasn't feeling it. But then I talked to my family and heard that a lot of you wonderful people back home fasted for me this past Sunday and so I knew that I needed to talk to you all abt it:) And say thank you! I guess I'll get a little more personal with it, so sorry bout that but I think it's important. So as some of you may know, I am definitely not the most socially skilled person out there. I struggle a lot with feelings of social anxiety and whatnot. So as you can probably imagine being out here has been a struggle bus. Going up and talking to people is not my forte. At all at all. I have been making progress! Like I sent a mega amount of voice messages to random people on Facebook the other day which if you know me you know that's a miracle. But I have been feeling many times that I shouldn't be here. In moments of doubt I wonder if I am dragging my companion down, if I'm b...

I made it to New Zealand! Kia Ora! Im officially a missionary! Its crazy being here in New Zealand. And getting here was even crazier. I flew from SLC to LAX at around 6pm and when we landed in lax no one knew what to do or where to go haha. We eventually worked things out and we waited in our layover. It was strange waiting and not having a phone to occupy myself. The flight to new zealand was 13 hours but it wasnt that bad. I slept most of it. And then we made it to the mtc! The new zealand mtc is right next to the auckland temple that is being built and its so beautiful. Anyways the mtc was kind of hard at first to get used to but im getting into the groove. The lessons are still long and theres a lot of doctorine to memorize but its not too bad.  My companions are elder wihongi from hamilton new zealand and elder tihopu from tahiti. They are both going to tahiti on their mission. and elder wihongi is supposed to be in the provo mtc as soon as he gets his flight info becau...

IM DOWN FOR THAT ONE๐Ÿ’— Hey friends!! I don't actually have a lot of time but I wanted to tell you that God loves you!! Miracles are out there!!  The awesome Thailand place owners who were so cool! We accidentally went to this place but it was definitely God's plan we met them because they were very curious about missionaries ๐ŸŒณ Sports night with all my best friends:) This week there was a new girl who played basketball so we had all 3 girls play and we almost won? They only let us play once though and we were just warming up๐Ÿ˜ Can you spot Sister Skinner? This is us at the service activity where I met my new best friend from Xinying๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—  Sister Ashton cutting the cake we accidentally bought? ... no comments Anyway I hope you all have the grandest week and know that miracles and blessings are seriously out there we just have to open the door and get out there!

Pancakes!! I've got some sad news!! You know how I said there was taro ice cream!? I lied!! But don't worry it wasn't on purpose I know the ninth commandment! Because the purple ice cream I thought was taro was actually grape! But besides that devastating news this week was good!! Let me tell you about it!! We had a lesson with a referral we had been trying to get in contact with for a while that showed up to church last Sunday and so we got to meet with him!! He told us that he has never loved the buddhist/daoist thing they've got going on here and wanted to learn about God! Good thing that's what we as missionaries do!! So we had a lesson and as we were describing the Godhead he stopped us a couple time to ask us some questions including "how do I pray?" "Why should I read the book of Mormon?" And "is there church this Sunday?"! It was my favorite thing ever!!! YAY for Leo!! And questions!! The other BIG news of this week was transfe...

Hawaii Laie Mission August 2024 Aloha Ohana, Today marks the last month of our mission! We cannot believe it is August already. Our mission has picked up speed as we have been assigned to serve full time in the Laie Temple Visitor's Center. We have really enjoyed serving together the last four months of our mission. We watch and assist the young sister missionaries as they give tram rides from the Polynesian Cultural Center, past BYU-H, to the visitor center, and temple grounds. Then they give guests a tour and share the gospel in many different languages.  Stacy is also the mission health advisor, along with seamstress. Dan has served as the vehicle coordinator for the past month waiting for the new coordinator to arrive. We both make zone conference meals and serve at the PCC once a week at the luaus.   We have the opportunity to share the gospel and our testimonies of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Fathers perfect plan of happiness. We have really enjoyed sharing ...
