Hawaii Laie Mission August 2024
Aloha Ohana,
Today marks the last month of our mission!
We cannot believe it is August already. Our mission has picked up speed as we have been assigned to serve full time in the Laie Temple Visitor's Center. We have really enjoyed serving together the last four months of our mission. We watch and assist the young sister missionaries as they give tram rides from the Polynesian Cultural Center, past BYU-H, to the visitor center, and temple grounds. Then they give guests a tour and share the gospel in many different languages.
Stacy is also the mission health advisor, along with seamstress. Dan has served as the vehicle coordinator for the past month waiting for the new coordinator to arrive. We both make zone conference meals and serve at the PCC once a week at the luaus.
We have the opportunity to share the gospel and our testimonies of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Fathers perfect plan of happiness. We have really enjoyed sharing our testimonies of the restoration. We love Joseph Smith even more for the sacrifices he made to restore the gospel. We thank thee oh God for a prophet! We love testifying of our living Prophet and his challenge to reach out to the one. That has been our focus in the visitor's center, and we witness miracles every day.
We have been fortunate to be able to serve at the same time as our dear friends Paul and Sherri Whiting. They serve in the Honolulu mission as military relations missionaries at Schofield Barracks. They invited us over to Pearl Harbor for the 4th of July to have dinner and watch fireworks from the deck of the Missouri Battleship. It was an amazing Patriotic experience that we will forever be grateful for.
We went to the temple with Zach, a friend of the Whiting's, serving in the military. He went to the temple to do his endowment. We were blessed to be in attendance.
Ashley and Scott Pickering brought their children over. It was so fun to see them.
Melinda and Jamie Evans came over and visited us, we had so much fun together.
Dianne and Kerry Oman and their family visited us, and It was so good to see all of them.
We love our family and miss everyone dearly. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 4th of September. We speak in church on September 8th at noon.
We are so grateful to have this opportunity to serve together. Our mission has not been without its many challenges, but it has been so rewarding, and an extraordinary experience. Hawaii Laie Mission is definitely somewhere we have witnessed the impact of the gospel throughout the world.
We will hold the new relationships and memories in our hearts and our lives forever… As they say here in Hawaii; “One Ohana, living aloha.”
Much Love and Aloha!
