Heat and Answered Prayers ¡Hey everyone! This week was a long one. Many things happened but at the same time nothing happened. Tuesday we had to go to the doctor in the morning to get my comps heart checked out. Turns out that there was nothing wrong just that he need a full day of rest so that's what we did Tuesday. He slept and rested and I studied and cleaned a bit. Wednesday was a little tough because there weren't too many people to teach. We did have success meeting with our leaders for a meeting about the missionary work. It actually went super well to get their advice and communicate a little better. Then we had ward night which was solid like always. Thursday was a little crazy because we had to go to the doctor for one last time to get my comp checked up. Then we had to go have our interviews with President Faúndez which was awesome. He always knows what to say. He encourages me to be better and strengthens me by pushing further to be the best missionary I can be. Th...

¡Chao OPM! 🥺🫶🏻 This is it! After 18 months, my time serving the Lord in Portland Oregon is officially coming to an end. I have learned SO much from my time here. So much about my Savior, His restored gospel, and so much about myself as His disciple and sister.  I have learned that Jesus Christ does nothing for himself. He is always looking to serve, bless, heal, and lift others. He will always have compassion and mercy on us if we come to Him. He sees us not only for who we are, but for who we are becoming. He changes hearts. He is the Savior of the world, the Only Begotten of the Father. I know that He lives! He is real. I love Him so much and have seen Him work miracles in the lives of the people here in Portland.  Some highlights from this week were seeing the change He brought to Sonia and Jose! Midweek, we got a random text from Jose and he just told us how he has felt such a change since meeting with us and coming to church! He said he trusts God and has faith i...

Hello my friends and family!! Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope you are enjoying this wonderful Christmas season to celebrate and adore the Savior of the world. It is truly a blessing to serve as one of His representatives and spread His message during a time that is directly focused towards Him. I love my Savior and it is a time of such joy and happiness! I am excited to give you updates for the past couple of months and get back on track on writing to y'all. Lots of things have changed, especially schedule wise and I have been able to re-adjust and better find time to write.  We are at the end of another transfer! Going back to the beginning of last transfer, I received the call to serve as an assistant to our Mission President and what a whirlwind of a learning experience it has been. With this my new area is on campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock and I am serving in my first YSA. Let me tell you it was a huge culture shock to go from serving in family wards...

Dear family and friends, It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in Thomaston!! The town of Thomaston does a terrific job of bringing in the Christmas spirit with lots of decorations in the town square. I have to admit, I always thought I could never get in the spirit of Christmas in a warm climate without snow, but I think I’ve changed my mind. It’s been quite nice to be outside in short sleeves in the sunshine while I get reports from home of snow covering the ground and below-freezing temperatures! The day after Thanksgiving we started on our goal of visiting one more time with every person that we’ve worked with, taught, or otherwise interacted with in some way during our mission. We came up with a list of 83 people! So, that very day we popped our first batch of popcorn, turned it into delicious homemade caramel corn, bagged it up with an ornament of the Savior attached, and took off to start delivering. We have made 60 deliveries and we’re still going strong. This ...

Transfers and Hospital visits ¡Hello Everyone! ¿Haupei? Wow this week was insane. I'm very tired. With transfers and many hospital visits I'm ready for a chill week. Tuesday I went and did exchanges with Elder Sego who is from Texas. I went to his area which is called Presidente Franco. It was good exchange. We were able to invite lots of people to read The Book of Mormon and come to church. Wednesday was a long day because after we went and ate lunch it started raining a ton. We stopped by the house quick to grab my comp's umbrella and while we were there we got news that my comp had to go get a rabies shot. That was a crazy experience. I basically had to figure it all our because my comps Spanish still isn't to the point of communicating in a hospital. It was definitely crazy and it turns out the place was closed too. Thursday morning we got our transfer news. Elder Woodbury left the area and went to an area super far away called Pilar. I'm staying here in Ciudad...

It's Christmas Time! It's been so so rainy recently! Which I absolutely love and will be one of the things I will miss most about Oregon. Next, I hope for the snow! Oregon snow is definitely different from Utah. Overall, this week was pretty awesome! It definitely had its highs and lows. One of the hardest parts of missionary work is when friends don't keep commitments. You have such a great desire for them to progress closer to Jesus, but something is holding them back! Some of those things are in your control, but most of them are up to those you are teaching. It is in their hands to choose to follow Christ. Their conversion is theirs, and theirs alone. A lot of our friends have been getting sick and working on Sundays. But we can always find Hope in Jesus Christ and keep pressing forward. This week we listen to a BYU devotional called "b100% responsible" for district council. It talks about how as we take 100% responsibility for all of our actions and our mis...

The Love of Christ Bruno ¡Holiiiiiis! ¿Cómo están todos? This week has been full of so many things. To exchanges and 100 degree weather and then buckets of rain. We also had some pretty good lessons! This Tuesday I was able to do exchanges with Elder Bryner who's from Delaware. Yes the same Elder that also got Covid in the CCM with me. We've also done exchanges before so it was really chill. We did them in my area. It was a fairly difficult day because a lot of people weren't home. Also we are in a moment in our area where we are trying to find a lot so that always makes the work feel quite bit slower. We were able to have an amazing lesson with a recent convert named Bruno. He got baptized the Saturday I got here in Ciudad Del Este. About two week ago he got the Melchizedek Priesthood which was awesome! We had a super fun lesson where we taught him the power of the priesthood and what a wonderful blessing he can be for his family now. The spirit was so strong in the lesso...

11/17/23 HELLO!!   Hi! I am so very sorry for not sending an email for the last *very long time* a LOT has happened haha! I had a whirl of a time last transfer. There is a lot of money in the general Rocklin area especially among the members of the church. I have been in the absolute bougiest of homes and yet each person I met in the Rocklin 1/6 wards was so extrememly kind and giving and willing to help us with whatever we needed. The members in the 6th ward are some of my very favorites from my whole entire mission. I will miss them lots. and the people we were teaching. We got to help our friend Shaundra realize that she needs to grow her relationship to Jesus Christ and she has begun to think about baptism. We also grew close with a family that has always known about our church but also has strong ties to their own church and we were able to help them find truth in the Book of Mormon.  but now.... I am in the Rocklin YSA!!!!!! IM BACK WITH MY PEOPLE. I absolutely lov...
