 The Love of Christ

Bruno
¡Holiiiiiis! ¿Cómo están todos?

This week has been full of so many things. To exchanges and 100 degree weather and then buckets of rain. We also had some pretty good lessons!

This Tuesday I was able to do exchanges with Elder Bryner who's from Delaware. Yes the same Elder that also got Covid in the CCM with me. We've also done exchanges before so it was really chill. We did them in my area. It was a fairly difficult day because a lot of people weren't home. Also we are in a moment in our area where we are trying to find a lot so that always makes the work feel quite bit slower. We were able to have an amazing lesson with a recent convert named Bruno. He got baptized the Saturday I got here in Ciudad Del Este. About two week ago he got the Melchizedek Priesthood which was awesome! We had a super fun lesson where we taught him the power of the priesthood and what a wonderful blessing he can be for his family now. The spirit was so strong in the lesson and you could just feel the happiness and spirit that came from Bruno.

Wednesday we were actually able to do a little bit of service. If you remember Héctor who just got baptized two weeks ago the family he married into he has a nephew who's name is Dylan. Poor Dylan was playing soccer with his cousins and broke his leg! We were able to go and bring him a little get well soon bag and give him a priesthood blessing. It was so special because his family was there and they have all come back to the church and they were just laughing and sharing and it made me really happy to see their family together.

Thursday we were able to have a super good family home evening with a family going through a rough spot in their family. We really just talked about the importance of the actions we take. Like President Nelson taught us, what we do in this life determines what kind of body we'll have, who we'll be with, and where we'll live all based on our actions here on this earth.

Friday I was able to do exchanges with Elder Flete who is from the Dominican Republic. He's super awesome and is super positive. He has about six months in the mission. This day we did exchanges was so hot. Welcome back to Paraguay everyone where the temperatures got up to 107 when we were walking in the streets. It was tough. Not gonna lie I'm kinda scared this summer because I know it just keeps getting hotter. This day was a little everywhere because people did not want to listen. We walked and sweated a lot. We did end up having a good lessons with a friend named Emi. She's a referral from her neighbor who's a member. We were able to have a really good lessons together and help her understand a little bit more about the church!

Saturday, after we finished exchanges, I learned that while my comp was in the other area he got his hand bit by a dog. So Saturday was a little crazy figuring out if we had to go to the hospital what medication we had to buy and all that.

Sunday was a very solid day! I feel like a always say it but being able to go to church and take the sacrament is such a huge blessing. Héctor was able to receive the Aaronic priesthood. Now he's a priest and can bless the sacrament. Bruno also brought a friend to church who's name is Roque! Bruno is already such a solid missionary. We then went to lunch then came back home to study. We finished studying and went outside and not even three minutes of being outside it started raining, a lot. Paraguay keeps surprising me because I've never seen it rain this much. We got stuck under a roof for about thirty minutes then decided to trek it home. We got completely soaked. We came home and our house had tons of water on the floor. Then I realized that my phone wasn't working so I threw it in rice so fast. Then our washing machine broke because the power went out and blew the circuit. It was very chaotic. Pictures are below to see the chaos.

Something that kept coming into my mind this week was advice that my mom always gives me and it's this, to use the atonement of Christ to be able to love others as he loves them. I love this so much. When trying to understand how, why, or when I should love someone I really just have to think of the way that our savior loves them. Our savior suffered and died for everyone in this world. He even died for the same people that killed him. So truly the atonement of Christ can bless us with love for; our enemies, or coworkers who have done us wrong, or a family member that makes rude comments. Christ can show you how to love them and show you what do to. Here in the mission there are people who want to listen and those who don't. It's my job to love them both equally so all of God's children can have a chance to receive the gospel.

That's it for this week of my life! This week we will be getting transfer news so we'll see if I get a new comp or maybe if I leave we won't know but I'll be sure to tell you all what happens next week! Love you all and thank you for reading my weekly email!

¡Chau!
Love, Elder Acor
