(Sorry this is late.  I've been out of town.) Merry Christmas… President Nelson’s Christmas message reminds us “No gifts will mean as much as acts of pure love you offer to the lonely, the worn down and the weary. These are gifts that remind us and them of the true reason for the season: the gift of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who was born to cast out all fear and bring everlasting light and joy to all who follow Him.” Wishing you the peace and hope of Christmas This Sunday We are going to start meeting at our new time, 9:00 AM for sacrament meeting with second hour meetings following. (This coming week is Sunday School.) What we’re reading This week our Come Follow Me reading is "This is My Work and My Glory".  (Moses 1, Abraham 1) Happy Birthday to you ·        Kate Searle, December 15 ·        Jan Peterson, December 18 ·        Liz Crandall, December 21 ·        Danny Brady, December 24 ·...

Xin Chào và Lẽ Giáng sinh vui vẻ!!  Merry late Christmas!!  The past two weeks have been amazing!! I love my New Yorkers and so many grand miracles.  Our friend Nicole got baptized last week!! She kept saying that she feels "fantastic!!" And her baptism was beautiful. I played the piano for the baptism and it was terrible. But, good memories and the spirit was there.  We helped out at the giving machines!! Wow! Super duper fun and a lot of cool people there too! There was one lady who was doing it all for her family and they each picked out an item to donate for their Christmas gift that year! So cool!! I gave out lots of "give" stickers!  We had an amazing zone conference where we talked about Jesus Christ's life and it was absolutely beautiful. Jesus Christ really did everything for us. And He is the greatest gift.  I went back to Harlem this week!!! Wow. I love Harlem. I swear I was smiling the whole day. We found 3 amazing new friends and one was...

Pie in the face with our district Hey guys!! This week was absolutely wild! For those of you that don't know, I was transferred to Holly Springs and am follow up training two missionaries that just finished up their training! Their names are Sister Yorgesen and Sister Johnson! By far some of the sweetest girls to ever  exist. Ever since day one, we just clicked and each have that burning desire to work with all the energy of our souls to find the Lord's chosen people.  Here's some fun facts about them: Sister Johnson: **She's from Lehi, Utah **She was on her high schools mountain biking team and basically grew up in the mountains **She's only been out on her mission for 3 months but acts like she's been serving for a lifetime. Her energy and enthusiasm to spread the gospel across the NCRM is so so so contagious **She is the most energetic morning person I have ever met **You'll never find her without a smile on her face and will laugh at any joke someone m...

Merry Christmas!!! I hope everyone had such a blast spending time with family and loved ones this holiday season! What a memorable holiday that was! Gotta hand it to NC to have 75 degree weather and lots of sunshine Christmas day XD I only have a half p day today so I'm going to jump into my week: On Tuesday our relief society president invited us to come drop off donated gifts from the ward to a family in need. There were over 60 presents piled in the trunk and it took several trips to the car to finally bring them all into the house. I'll never forget the way the kids eyes lit with excitement and their endless energy as they bounced around wanting to open them all. The mom just kept thanking us over and over but really, we hadn't done anything at all. We were just the messengers delivering what others had put together for her. It made me realize in a new light the magnitude of my calling and the ability I have to be the Lord's messenger for His work. Cause here I wa...

Xin Chào!!!  I LOVE NEW YORK!!!  I could just live here forever! I missed Manhattan so much. And the 6 train has so so so many people on it. I thought a year ago it was a lot. But I was wrong.  I told God at the beginning of this Transfer that these 6 weeks, I am going to give it to Him. Forget myself and just be a willing instrument.  Being in Manhattan means that there is people everywhere and that makes me feel like I need to talk to everyone! And I get scared every single time. But when I think that I am doing it for God, it has gotten easier to just talk to people.  I met Julio this week, a guy who loved to Box! He knew of "mormons" and Joseph Smith and all that and didn't know the reason for all of it. I did a breif summary of the restoration and I felt the spirit so strong right there outside a cigarette shop. He lives in the Bronx. But he gave me his number for the missionaries to reach out. He then told the missionaries that he was excited to lea...

Sister Alaycia Neel North Carolina Raleigh Mission 5060 Six Forks Rd Raleigh, NC 27609 Hello everyone! I don't have much time but here's a few highlights from the week: **SO many members or people I am teaching spoiled me with thoughtful gifts and goodbye parties this whole past week! It made for some really memorable partings and GREATLY anticipated reunions here soon We played Taco, cat, goat cheese, pizza with the Jorgensen family after dinner one night...probably one of the most intense card games I have ever played in my life XD. I'm pretty sure I walked away from that experience with a 6 pack from how hard we were laughing. We had an awesome lesson with Kayla at Joyner Park! She brought her roommate and we taught them the Plan of Salvation. They were amazed at how similar our beliefs were and intrigued to learn more which is always exciting!  The Arsenaults took us caroling with some ward members and we did some stop by's to less active families or new families t...

Ahaha heyy I bet you're so excited to hear about another week in Papeete:) Some quick lessons learned before we get into it; -There are in fact cannibals in my mission -found out that the name meg is short for megaladon and not megan -my companion told me that if i wanted to know what my husband will look like i could go to the grounds of the temple and pray about it? -On a more serious note, forever families are possible and I am so grateful for mine.    -Patience is everything, and God's plan is always worth the wait Growing up, my dad always told me the story of this man he taught on his mission in France that was able to be baptized and left a huge impact on him.  His daughter lives near Papeete with her family and I got to meet them this week!  Feeling so grateful for the examples of my parents as the coolest missionaires ever, and the forever effect that the Gospel has on families.  This week we ended up taking a trip out to faaa to sing for a bapti...

Xin Chào các bạn bè!!  Thượng Đế sẵn lòng!  Week 6 hypeeeee!! God is so grand. God is so ready. And God IS willing! Let me show you these miracles!!  Tuesday:  We went knocking on "Marion Pl" and we literally knocked everydoor. But the absolute last house we knock Victor.  Victor comes to the door and asks, "Mormons?" We respond with our usual "that's just a nickname" response. But he doesn't care cause the next thing he says, "I was mormon!!" Then we said, "Was?"  He said it was a long story. But that he absolutely loved church and loved meeting with the missionaries and gave us his number. He said that he had "a mormon amount of kids." And he said we could come back and teach them!! He wanted to come to church and took the book of mormon very excited!  Wednesday:  We have literally had dreams of knocking apartment buildings so we finally went and found one to knock. We were seeing kinda success until we get to a do...

Hello and happy Monday y'all! Sooo I've been avoiding this for a couple weeks now but seeing that it's the end of transfers next week it's probably appropriate I share. At my last interview, four weeks ago with President Maurer, I found out I'm leaving Wake Forest next week and heading out to a new area. It absolutely breaks my heart and has created some tender emotions these past couple of weeks for sure. I've served here for over 6 months and have fallen in love with the people to a point where leaving is now extremely difficult. No matter how hard it was to hear that news, I knew that God needed me elsewhere and President Maurer hit on that a lot. He said it was time for me to leave the nest and spread my wings in a new area. He said God had bigger and better plans for me and I had completed the work He sent me here to do. These past few weeks I have applied much faith into these words and trusted Heavenly Father's timing as I now wrap up sacred and hol...

In the news Hopefully we’re in touch with friends and neighbors and are staying connected. But it’s a trick to keep up… If you’re aware of some news that would be good to share here, please send me a note. Happy news for the Sumsions… Holly welcomed baby Leo (named after Linda’s grandfather) and Kevin is engaged! We share the excitement of this growing family. Pauline shared a “small world” connection in her good news. One of her grandsons was recently engaged, and another grandson was recently married—to our friend Katelynn Vaughn. Hooray for both families! Our hearts are with Marlene Safsten and her family at this time. Marlene’s sister recently passed away. We love you, Marlene.   A note of thanks It was fun to spend time in service with several of you this week. We are nearly done with our Comfort Quilts project thanks to your generosity. A special shout out to those who organized the efforts, offered space in their homes, loaned frames and donated supplies, and are fini...
