Xin Chào các bạn bè!!

Thượng Đế sẵn lòng!

Week 6 hypeeeee!! God is so grand. God is so ready. And God IS willing! Let me show you these miracles!!

Tuesday:

We went knocking on "Marion Pl" and we literally knocked everydoor. But the absolute last house we knock Victor.

Victor comes to the door and asks, "Mormons?" We respond with our usual "that's just a nickname" response. But he doesn't care cause the next thing he says, "I was mormon!!" Then we said, "Was?"

He said it was a long story. But that he absolutely loved church and loved meeting with the missionaries and gave us his number. He said that he had "a mormon amount of kids." And he said we could come back and teach them!! He wanted to come to church and took the book of mormon very excited!

Wednesday:

We have literally had dreams of knocking apartment buildings so we finally went and found one to knock. We were seeing kinda success until we get to a door that has a cute owl decoration on it. We knocked the door and the cutest women ever answered.

Her name is Shakira, and it means "thank you" because her dad told her mom that if she had one more child he would forever be thankful. So the mom said yes, but you have to think of the name. So. Shakira. Cause he was so thankful! Cute right?

And what is so grand about Shakira is that you can totally tell she has a relationship with God. It is so evident and I think that is one of the reasons why she was so happy and excited to see us. Because she was so close to God she could recognize the spirit.

After giving her the book of mormon she said, "don't get the chills now, but I literally was just telling my son that I need a new book to me. And here you are giving me a book!"

Thursday:

For a long time here in Lynbrook, I have heard stories of an amazing friend named Bobby and his daughter Caitlyn. But something happened with his girlfriend and she didn't want him to meet with our church.

Well Bobby reached out this week and wanted to meet. So we set up a time to do so!

He told us that he was so happy when he was going to church and meeting with the missionaries and that he doesn't care what anyone else thinks, he knows what he feels about this church. Christ's church.

When we asked him about baptism he went straight into what he was doing to overcome a WoW roadblock. When we asked him about church, he said he already told his boss that he can't work on Sundays. When we brought up the book of mormon he said what should I read? And so we gave him 3 nephi 17.

He said that reading he didn't understand the first time, so he prayed that God would help him understand. The second time he said he understood clearly and then texted us: "now I need to pray to Him to ask Him to heal me. Right?"

And his daughter is the cutest 6 year old in the world.

Friday:

I went on exchanges to Jamaica with Sister Starkey!☝

Now I am not very experienced in the art of street contacting but we role played and then we went outside and tried. It was rough. It was awkward. But we did find a cool guy named Mike! And we invited this one couple for a chapel tour!

But the coolest was Anne Marie who said that she was so grateful we talked to her. She gave us her phone number and address and said that we need to come by so we can teach her and her neighbor. Literally the most stylin cutie and so humble!

Saturday:

We had to go door knocking. But where? Well apparently the apostles pulled lots so why not write down the name of all the cities and pull it out of hat?

We pulled out Uniondale. And then looked at the map and felt Lennox Ave. So we went there took a couple of detors of knocking another apartment building. But we got there and got a lot of "no's" or a lot of Spanish speakers.

But then we see Clifton! He is outside his brothers house and guys I am not kidding. When we brought up the book of mormon his eyes lit up and he wanted a copy so bad! It really did seem like we were giving him gold. He said he wanted to read it and would read it with his wife! We were led to that house for sure.

Sunday:

We got 4 people to church which was the most all transfer long!!! And we even got so many hard commits for next Sunday too!

We called our friend Kaleb who was busy this week and he said that he has been reading the book of mormon and wants to ask us some questions! He said that he wants to come to church next week. And without us saying anything, he told us that he wanted to stay in better contact with us.

We then got the coolest media referral who ordered a Bible from "mormon .org" a couple of years ago and said that he just finished the bible and so he wanted to know what the book of mormon was all about. Then he proceeded to tell us that he already downloaded the book of mormon app and was in 1 Nephi chapter 6.

He told us that he wanted to give his whole life to God and just start over. We then taught him the Law of Chasity as his first lesson and he loved it and agreed to live it. #wantstocometochurchtoo #3weekbaptism #lynblessed

God really is good, God really is ready to bless you, and God is SO willing!!

Carry on, carry on, carry on!

Love,

Chị Skinner

P.s. sooooo... I am actually getting transfered to Manhattan tomorrow (and so I have to say goodbye to all my amazing friends here😭) and I might not have anytime to respond to any emails. But thank you for all your support and kind words and I am grateful for you all!!
