The Big 3 Spencer Neel <spencer.neel@missionary.org> Hello my friends and family!! What a week it has been. I’ve been able to see myself grow so much and really figure out how the Spirit speaks to me. I am so grateful for the mercy of our Savior and I am learning a lot of things from Him.  Last Monday we had a shorter P-day because we had the amazing opportunity to go contacting on Texas Tech campus with the newly arriving missionaries. It literally feels like yesterday that was me being taken around campus but now I got to do it for someone else. I grabbed the first missionary I saw and his name was Elder Self. He’s from Logan Utah and absolutely loves to ski. He was telling me about all the snow Utah has gotten over this past winter and I am kind of jealous. But we went on a roll. Elder Self and I connected really well. We got a few people’s numbers and one guy wanted to come to church Sunday! I then challenged Elder Self to pass out the Book of Mormon to someone and...

THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIKE A FIRE IS BURNING Wowowowow what a weeeeek. I had lots of fun and crazy adventures but overall one of the most spiritual times of my life.  Tuesday we had interviews and district council and my mission president told us they are announcing the open house dates for the feather river temple in a couple of weeks! We were also able to go to the temple with our recent convert Davin and we had a lesson with our friend Jacob in the waiting room. We went over the baptismal interview questions and the spirit was unstoppable. I just know that there is no better place than the temple and that it is our glimpse into the reality of our divinity. Jacob is hopefully going to be on date for baptism soon but his life is crazy! He got bit by a dog that had rabies and then he waited for us to finish baptisms before he left for the er and then told us he doesn't have rabies but does have a bad infection. He used that as an excuse to get off work and have more lessons with...

Monday, February 20, 2023 We had a wonderful day off this past Tuesday celebrating our ninth anniversary. The “little white house”, as President Roosevelt called the humble home that he built at Warm Springs, was maintained exactly as he left it the day he died. He was sitting in a chair in his living room having his portrait painted when he slumped over in the chair from a brain hemorrhage. He was carried to his bed and he passed away just a few hours later. The chair, the bed, and the remainder of the house have been maintained just as they were. The unfinished portrait is displayed in the museum. We could have spent days in the museum! The story of first lady Eleanor was equally as inspiring. What a great woman she was! On Wednesday, we finally got to meet Brother Nick. He has a very interesting take on the gospel. He has been a member of the church all of his life but became inactive in his young teens when, in his words, he began partying. So, at a young age, he became depen...

Week 66: celebrate with sherry 🥳🥂 Scout Benson Hey yall!!! On this week of kickin it out here in lynn haven.....  - we had an awesome lesson with our ysa friend. sister johnson led this like... meditation. we all closed our eyes and imagined ourselves in sacrament meeting...  the sights the sounds the smells, everything. we sat and thought about it for a while. then we invited the Savior in. physically. where was he? was he sitting next to you? holding your hand? hugging you? at first i pictured him sitting next to me in the pew. I watched tears roll down his face during the prayers, and i knew he was thinking about all he'd done for us. He was thinking about all the people that were suffering, lost or afraid. I watched in my mind for a second, then our friend said "i want him to be passing the sacrament." and that blew my mind. Thats EXACTLY where he should be. he is the one OFFERING us the gift that the sacrament really is. how cool is it that the deacons get to sta...

¡Encarnación! Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org> Mark Acor;Whitney Gubler;Calianne Skinner;Addy Pace;Ashley Edwards;Patti Mutchie ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! I have made it everyone! I am here in Encarnación and I am working and learning so many new things. This week I have learned so much about missionary work. How to push myself and just having a good time on the mission and smiling. A week ago today I was traveling from Caaguazú to Asunción. It was a fun trip. I definitely was a bit bummed to be leaving Caaguazú because I did not feel like I had that much time in that area and there were still people progressing but I went with faith. I got to Asunción and it was really good! I got to see a bunch of missionaries I have not seen for awhile. That's how it always goes with transfers. Everyone goes to the mission offices first then we all leave from there. I spent the night there and talked with some Elders just about the mission and life and it was awesome. ...

Ward Conference Reading

Sisters and Brothers of the Springville Stake, thank you for your dedicated efforts as we all strive to become more like the Savior. I deeply love and admire each of you and pray for heavens’ greatest blessings to be upon you and your families this New Year. In anticipation of your ward conference next Sunday, I would invite each of us to prayerfully study Elder Dallin H. Oaks’ talk on Sacrament Meeting and the Sacrament. Please consider aligning your personal preparation for the sacrament with Elder Oaks’ wise direction including being seated well before the sacrament meeting begins so that we can each quietly and reverently ponder the Savior and our relationship with Him. I look forward to being together next Sunday as we commemorate the Savior’s Atonement. Warmly, President Clint M. Mortensen  Sacrament Meeting and the Sacrament By Elder Dallin H. Oaks Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles The ordinance of the sacrament makes the sacrament meeting the most sacred and impor...

Feliz San Valentin! Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org> I don't have a lot of time so I'll keep this short, but it was a great week!!! We found lots of new friends and have some progressing towards baptism so it's been really amazing to see their growth. Quoted from elder bednar "Balance is bogus" "Stop worrying" But it's true! All we can do is continue walking in faith and trusting in our loving Heavenly Father and His Only Begotten Son  Love you all, hope this week is full of lots of chocolate and smiles  💟 hermana Gardner

Hi friends and family!! I don't have a ton of time but I want to let you all know that I am alive and well!! Things are going so awesome in citrus heights and our ysa is popping off!! We are Teaching so many friends and hopefully some of them will be on date for baptism soon!  The hermanas that we lived with moved to another apartment last night because our neighbors smoke a LOT of pot and one of them is allergic and hasn't been able to breath very well. Me and sister allred are alone in our apartment now but we have tons of room and are doing so awesome! I have learned this week that I am so much of a better missionary and disciple when I spend my time in the scriptures so i invite you all to spend time in the scriptures! They are literally for you! Jesus loves you and so do i!!!!

Monday, February 13 Hi Y’all and Happy Valentine’s Week! This week was our first day working at the soup kitchen at the Silverton Baptist church. We were so warmly welcomed. We really enjoyed working with Tammy, and by the end of the shift, we felt like we were long-time friends. Tammy’s husband wasn’t there this time, and they have only two other regular volunteers; Lawrence, who does everything from cooking to maintenance, and Mama Kat, who cuts the veggies for the salads. I offered to help her, only to find out that she has a very exact way she wants the lettuce and cucumbers cut! Instead, Tammy gave me and Jerry a ton, and I mean a ton, of cooked pork to shred for pork sandwiches. We filled a tengallon bucket with shredded pork! We kept the Taco Soup stirred, filled the Styrofoam bowls with soup, and finished our shift by cleaning out three freezers. The freezers are located in a storage room filled with donated cans and boxes of food that is in total disarray. I shared with ...

Whooo let the dogs out!? Spencer Neel <spencer.neel@missionary.org> Hello my friends and family, what a wonderful week it has been! I hope it has been the same for you all and I want you to know that I love you guys so much!  This past week has felt like a blur, time goes by way too fast! Jacob 7:26 says it best that time passes as if it were a dream. It really does and that is why we need to cherish it so much! I went on exchanges on Tuesday with one of our Zone Leaders, Elder Briggs and it has been one of the best exchanges I have been on so far. He came to our area and I had my first opportunity to lead out! He doesn't speak Spanish so we were riding solo on this one. We worked the area so hard and got in contact with a ton of people we had never met before. One of them was our new friends Pedro and I will get to him in a second. That night we had a lesson with the Garcia's and we also had never been able to get inside to teach them. They are members but every time ...

Goodbye Caaguazú Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org> ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! This week was full of ups and downs and was super fast yet super slow.  To start off I started off the week sick again. I wasn't feeling that great at the end of P-Day on Monday but then I woke up on Tuesday and I just felt awful so it was a rest day of taking a lot of pills and drinking a lot of water to feel better. The next day I felt better and then we had our last district council of this transfer. Then we taught a ton of people but this day the last lesson of the day was with a 17 year old girl and she had this dog that was about a year old and this dog had all the energy in the world. This dog was jumping on me attacking me and I have some allergies to dogs so I just broke out in hives all up and down my arms. The thing is the girl did absolutely nothing. She just sat there and watched. I have no idea why. Next day was Thursday and again worked a good amount but wasn't any...

Hola hola everyone! This week I have learned a lot about love. I've learned so much about the love that our Heavenly Father has for us. All of us individually. In a BYU Devotional from President Nelson that we all listened to this week as a mission, he says "More than anything, our Father wants His children to choose to return home to Him. Everything He does is motivated by His yearning desire. The entire reason we are on this earth is to qualify to live with Him forever." This week I saw a lot of imperfect people trying their best to choose Him. I saw them, myself included messing up and making mistakes. Choosing to be selfish or disobedient, but I also saw that our Heavenly Father was always doing everything he could to bring them back.  I saw Victor choose to return home to God through the ordinance and covenant of baptism. He was so sincere with his testimony and it was amazing to see the change that has been occurring in him.  All in all, I'm so grateful I get ...

Monday, February 6, 2023 Hello family and friends, What an amazing week we’ve had! First, the mundane stuffѮѯѰѱ. We’ve finally gotten into a routine. Monday morning is laundry, grocery shopping, and baking day. We usually finish in enough time to go on some visits in the late afternoon and early evening. Last Monday I baked six loaves of bread and two dozen large, heart-shaped sugar cookies to take with us on visits. It’s great to have a little something ready in the freezer to grab at the last minute when the opportunity for an unexpected visit comes up. After two weeks as missionaries, and much trial and error, we finally have a record-keeping system that is working! The first visit of the week was with Jeremiah, the man that was baptized last week. He is working so diligently to read the Book of Mormon. And he’s on the road to success in his journey to quit smoking. We are taking him to the temple next Friday!!! We set off on Thursday morning to fulfill our goal of finding an ...

Week 64: oatmeal meltdown Scout Benson hey yall :)) this week was honestlyyyyyyyy...... not that awesome. but we kept going!! some crAzy things happened this week. heres a couple!  we got a call from this lady named anna! we set something up and went over and taught her the restoration. it was so awesome. she was feeling the Spirit and believed what we said. we were so grateful. it felt like God was answering prayers because the work has been hard here lately. then that night...... theres a young girl in our ward whose struggling with a lot of mental health issues, so details not included, we were at the church the other night with her and the bishop from 11 pm to 1 am. it was crazy. we came home and ate ice cream. not a situation i thought id be in as a missionary. then that morning.....  we as missionaries have certain rules. one of those rules is that we cant buy groceries for people. this is because they could become dependant on the missionaries, plus we really jus...

Endure to the End Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org> Mark Acor;Whitney Gubler;Calianne Skinner;Addy Pace;Ashley Edwards;Patti Mutchie ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! This week started off slow but sped up really fast. Lots of miracles and work and lots of struggles. It was a very good week. We started off this week very slow honestly. We had to do Facebook on Tuesday which is basically the whole day it seems like. The next day was Wednesday and it was very chill. We did our weekly planning and worked but nothing crazy happened. Thursday was different and was fun and very difficult. I got the opportunity to do divisions with Elder Pujols which is always fun. Every area that I have had in the mission I have been with Elder Pujols so I have done a lot of divisions. This divisions was fun. I was able to extend my first baptismal invitation! She said she'll think about it so I'm hopeful. Then after that it just got difficult. It seemed that every single person that we...

Venga a la biblioteca con nosotras Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org> Feliz martes!!!  Wow, what a week!! I'll explain the subject of my email first - these past few weeks Sister Frazier and I have discovered the Library, also known as the best possible place to do language study. We have visited two in our area so far and let's just say it's been a game changer.  Where to even start, I guess with some of the things that hit me hard this week: - We truly are living in the "dispensation of the fulness of times" which basically just means we are living through the fulfillment of all of the prophecy in the holy scriptures!! That's pretty amazing. - Christ ministered to ALL of God's children, no matter what their life experience was. He sat with the sinners and came to save all of us. Those of us who have made a covenant to take upon his name should do the same.  - without charity we are nothing. - I love Chilean food with all my heart. - h...
