Sister Benson: 2/21/23
Week 66: celebrate with sherry 🥳🥂
Scout Benson
Hey yall!!! On this week of kickin it out here in lynn haven.....
- we had an awesome lesson with our ysa friend. sister johnson led this like... meditation. we all closed our eyes and imagined ourselves in sacrament meeting... the sights the sounds the smells, everything. we sat and thought about it for a while. then we invited the Savior in. physically. where was he? was he sitting next to you? holding your hand? hugging you? at first i pictured him sitting next to me in the pew. I watched tears roll down his face during the prayers, and i knew he was thinking about all he'd done for us. He was thinking about all the people that were suffering, lost or afraid. I watched in my mind for a second, then our friend said "i want him to be passing the sacrament." and that blew my mind. Thats EXACTLY where he should be. he is the one OFFERING us the gift that the sacrament really is. how cool is it that the deacons get to stand in his place?? amazing. needless to say i thought about the sacrament very differently on sunday.
- part two of that story is jason. jason is like 40 years old and i like him a lot. hes around sometimes when we're over there. well he was just there the whole night we were there. so we got talking and TURNS OUT hes not baptized!! sister morse is a convert, so i guess non of her kids are members except her and brother morses son, so her youngest. anyways we started talking to jason and he said hed taken the lessons before but felt like the missionaries hadnt really cared for him as anything but a number, so every time hed gotten to baptism he just felt like he couldnt. well we kept talking to him and he ended up telling us hed come to church. him and i really connected and he said he couldnt say no to me haha. we love jason.
- part 3, jason and sherry both came to church :))
- we had another awesome lesson with selvin!! hes praying about baptism!!!
in other news, our car got towed from our apartment today. cause our bike rack was in a no parking zone. nice. so that just made our day really wonderful. on that note, i have been just reaaally worn out lately. so i would love if yall share your favorite tips for recharging your battery :))
love you all!!
