And the rain came down... Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org> This week it finally rained!! So today Sister Bennett and I hit up the local target real fast to get some thermals because I was freezing!!! It's so fun though, I've loved the rain and now I never have to do my hair so it's a win win. This week has been amazing! Some highlights: - social media efforts! The Portland Oregon mission knows it's stuff when it comes to social media and I've been able to be a little part of that and we have seen some HUGE miracles. It really testifies to me that the gathering of Israel is happening worldwide and rapidly!! So many of God's children are seeking for the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. - we had a lesson with ernesto who is on date to get baptized and it was so wonderful! The spirit was so strong and we had one of the members come with us who had the most amazing testimony--fuego - we had dinner with the hernandez family and they gave us torta...

Week 49: the break up Scout Benson Hello all!!!! Having a wonderful day I hope ❤️   This week was kinda boooooringgggg. So thats fun. But! The title. A miracle, but a sad one. Our friend David has been ghosting us for a couple weeks now. We went to get gas the other day and while we're in there paying, david walks in. Mind you we had called, texted, stopped by... NOTHING. and then he walks in. And all ge can say is "I'm sorry" this man was so guilty. He knew it was true. He ended up telling us he just decided to go another way. Aka "quiting smoking is too hard". It was a very sad breakup.... but we got a picture with him. :)  Another miracle! We were walking down the street and started talking to this lady and we talked to her for like 30 minutes!! She loved the idea of the book of mormon!! It was so cool :))  Being in a trio is SO fun and we have like literally THE most fun. So plz enjoy allllll the pictures ;)

It is almost Mango season here and I am so excited Deep in the Sea Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org> ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! Another week down in this amazing missionary work. This week was full of personal growth and learning. We got to go out with an awesome member to do some lessons. I loved that. I am sorry I do not have many updates on our friends because that is the truth we really have not had anyone progress that much. I am taking my time here in San Isidro as a personal development time to let myself grow. My Spanish has improved a lot and I have been able to understand a lot of what is happening in a conversation. I am trying my best to give my thoughts in lessons and improve my parts in the lessons. It is really hard not to just want to slip into the background of the conversation and not say anything and let my comp do everything. I am pushing myself to advocate that I need to speak more and I am sharing my ideas more and it is good. This week li...

T's Up!! Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org> I'm officially in Tualatin after transfers with my new companion Sister Bennett!! It's been sad to say goodbye to the Hood, but Tualatin is also amazing!! There is so much work here and there are so many people who want to learn about the gospel!! I am now only serving in the Spanish branch which has been a transition for sure, but I can see the Lord has been providing so much! My Spanish has already improved leaps and bounds. The gift of tongues truly is real! Being honest, the transition has been a little tough, and I'm having to be very patient with myself, but I know with Jesus Christ on my side, I can do all things!! Like we learn in Moroni 7, "if ye have faith in me, ye will have power to do whatsoever is expedient in me". I know that through the covenants I have made which bind me to Christ, I can do His work!  Some highlights - transfers got to see everyone!! - MLC where president and sist...

Reaching Out Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org> ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! Woot woot everyone 3 months as a missionary today! I am getting so lost in the work that time is so weird here I just go work my heart out everyday. Crash at the end of the day because I am so tired and then do it all again. This week the weather has started to heat up and it is also getting pretty humid and let's just say I should start carrying a towel with me. I end the days absolutely pooped but is so good. Also just this last week I have really been able to see an improvement in my Spanish and it is so amazing! I am starting to understand so much more now and I can follow along in conversation and say some quick phrases. Talking and having a conversation is a whole different mountain I have to climb. This week was pretty with a lot of things that truly were amazing. This last week I was finally able to have my training as a new missionary! Since I had Covid I was not able to be with ...

Week 48: Greenie Fire Scout Benson Hello beautiful people!! This week has been the most wonderful. On thursday we went to transfers. We got to see Sister Petersen, Sister Jensen, Sister ASHBY and all kinds of fun people!! Then we got assigned our new missionary...... her name is Sister Palmer!! She is actually legendary. The greenie fire is SO THERE. We knocked doors her first day and she KILLED it. We all three work together as such a good team. I want to get to know them as friends for too long, Sister Ballard wants to shoot right into a message, and Sister Palmer kills it with the transition so its PERFECT.  My mom said yall would want to know all about her. So shes from a little town called Ashton in Idaho. She broke her big toe in the MTC cause she dropped a 65 lb weight on it. (ouch) so shes in a boot and on crutches/scooter for the next 5 ish weeks. We'll be spending a lot of time in the doctos haha. but we are HAPPY to have her. cripple and al ;) i dont even know wha...

Adios to the Hood! Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org> Hola everyone!!!!! It's transfers!!!!! First things first, being in the trio has been SO FUN! A little crazy because each area wasn't getting everything it deserved, but also just absolutely amazing. We invited so many people to be baptized and taught with so much power and authority!!! It's crazy how miracles can happen when you add more faith in Jesus Christ and rely on his atonement a little bit more. Sister Cutler had to teach in a Spanish lesson and wow did we learn the gift of tongues is real!! Even though she didn't understand any of the Spanish, the spirit spoke to her exactly what she needed to say and also exactly what scriptures were needed at the right moment.  Now, for transfers!! I'm going to Tualatin!!! That's right Sister Stewart, I'm going to T-Town!!! Not a whole lot of time, but I love you all!! God has a plan for each and every one of you and loves you so much! ♡♡♡ ...

The Storms of Life Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org> ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! Wow everyone, the days and weeks are just going by faster and faster. Just shows that I am doing things right here on the mission. This week was transfers. Nothing too crazy happened. I am still with my comp and there were some changes in the district so now we do not have hermanas, it is just six Elders in our area. Hey I am not the greenes anymore because we are getting some new things in the district. He is from Spanish Fork Utah so I am excited to talk to him about Utah. I also had divisions with my District Leader. That was super fun and I led my area for the first time. I really felt like I was in Utah this week! The weather here has been so crazy. Tuesday was pretty normal for divisions but Wednesday we had a crazy storm. This was an insane thunderstorm with winds going as fast as 80 kilómetros an hour (That is like 50mph) It was so crazy. We were lucky enough to be right in ...

¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! Well everyone if you would like to know how fast time is going I have already been here in Paraguay for one month! Like what that is so crazy! I hope everyone is doing well. I know a ton of you are deep into school. Hopefully it is all going well. If not and it is difficult I would suggest reaching out for help from friends, family, teachers. Also keeping a close relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is so important because when you do that you can always have comfort and hope during hard times. Some updates with our friends that we are teaching to be honest we do not have much. It has been very slow and quite a struggle trying to find people who will progress. Pretty much everyone we had hope for last week dropped because none of them were keeping up with their commitments and promises. We are pretty much at square one for transfers next week. We have luckily been able to work with members a lot and create a stronger connection with t...

I LOVE THE PROPHET!!! Wow this week was crazy!!! The weather in Oregon is SO beautiful right now! We had the first big rain storm since I got here so we got to break out the raincoats!  Some highlights: - We got to go to the temple again last p-day!! It is SUCH a blessing to be able to go to the temple every transfer as a zone! We went to the Colombia employee store afterwards which was super fun! - We had stake conference!!! Wow it was such a spiritual high! Our ward's Bishop gave a fire talk and it was great prep for general conference! - WOW general conference!!!!! I received so many answers to my questions!! Every time President Nelson spoke I just felt so happy, He is so precious. I really learned that our focus needs to be on Jesus Christ, we need to choose to live His higher and holier law, and take ownership of our testimonies! I am so grateful for our living prophets they are truly called of God to testify of Christ and show us the way to eternal life.  - Siste...

It was so much fun to have them here, if you remember, Sister Swain was my companion in Waycross for 3 months! So it was super fun :) Tuesday was a pretty normal day. Sister Ballard and i had an awesome lesson with David, in which he told us 1. that hed finished 1 Nephi, 2. that he knew the Book of Mormon was the word of God, 3. the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was God's church on earth, AND 4. THAT HE KNEW HE HAD TO QUIT SMOKING FOR REAL. So lots of HUGE THINGS!! He even came with us next door to the gas station to buy cinnamon gum because we heard that helps. He's for real this time. It was so awesome  Wednesday and Thursday.... the hurricane hit. But not us haha. Although up until Tuesday nigh...
