¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! This week was busy and went by fast! It is honestly kinda hard to remember everything that happened this week. We went to the northern part of our area on Tuesday which was crazy because it is just totally new from where we had been walking before. In fact we were so far north we were actually in the city of Asuncion. Our area covers four cities even though it is so tiny. While we were up north looking for someone specific we asked these two older guys, Julien and Mario, working at a shoe repair shack if they knew this person. They said they did not but then we started talking and then we started teaching! It was an awesome first lesson and they wanted us to come back. So just this week we met with them three times. One of the times that we walked up to the shoe shack it was just Mario and he was reading a book. THE BOOK OF MORMON. It was so amazing to see him reading it on his own time! Most of our friends that were progressing are slowing down. ...

Week 45: Hurricane Prep! Scout Benson In coming! Hurricane Ian is heading directly to us, set to hit on Wednesday. Please be praying for my people, and for the people or Florida who will be affected by this storm. Gainesville is pretty inland, so we wont get the most destructive part, the storm surge. But we are expecting heavy rain and flooding. But! Because we are so inland, we are becoming a shelter home for another set of coastal missionaries..... SISTER SWAINS COMING TO STAY!!! pretty much ive just never been more excited. Wish us all luck with our sanity as we play bible go fish a billion thousand times. :) This week has been a whirlwind! Its been long but short and full of miracles. So its just been another week in the mission :)) Sister Ballard and I have biked a TOTAL of 35.5 miles THIS WEEK!!! That is so many miles. President Elbert is cracking down on miles, plus we decided the exercise would be good for us! So its been fun and a great way to talk to people!!  Alr...

Week 44: The Miracle of the Mansfields Hi :) I havent sent a good email I a HOT minute, so I thought I would this week.  Last monday was wild, we spent all day at a museum with our district, so thats why my email was about .3 seconds long, and why I didnt take the time to THANK ANY OF YALL FOR BEING AMAZING and reaching out to me on my birthday! Although I couldn't answer any of them, I was so grateful. It made me feel loved :) I am so blessed to be surrounded by people who are so kind and loving and such good examples. ❤️ Alright so this week!! We started off Tuesday with zone conference! Elder Vern P. Stanfill of the 70 came. (If you havent heard his conference talk, you should definetly go give it a listen.) So! One thing he talked about really stuck with me. We opened up to John 21, and started with verse 3. Jesus has been resurrected, appears to the apostles, and then leaves again in chapter 20. Then, verse 3, Peter decides to "go a fishing". (which i just think is...

¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! Wow first real week here was crazy! I feel like so much has happened that I can not really think of everything. We are teaching so many people. We are at this point in the mission that we just have people to teach about every thirty minutes everyday. I still for the most part just sit there and smile and nod and I understand about a quarter of what is being said. Now though with members I share a scripture and explain what I think in Spanish so that is cool! Also everyone starts talking to me in Spanish then they ask do I understand and I say a little bit then they just talk to my comp haha. Also fun thing I had my first experience with a lady breast feeding right in front of me so that was something. There has been so many opportunities to feel the spirit this week it has been great. I got to be interviewed by my mission president which was amazing I love him! Fun fact though he does not speak any English so my interview was short but sweet. Then...

Time for Round2!! Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org> 1st transfer down!!! Wow it's gone fast!! This week was absolutely crazy, but super amazing!! We met a bunch of new friends that we were lead to by God! It's the most amazing thing to be an instrument in his hand!! Tomorrow is transfers, but luckily I don't have to worry about that because Sister Olson and I are still together here in the Hood. There are so many people we are teaching and helping its hard to keep up, but it's crazy to see how Christ can make up the difference when you think like you can't do it anymore! Some highlights - got bit by a dog jaja, don't worry it was really small - sacrament testimony meeting was AMAZING  - had interviews with President and Sister Haymond and President haymond answered a bunch of my questions and gave me such great advice!!!  - no bake cookies with the roomies when we all learned we were staying together for another transfer! - translated sacram...

Time goes much faster than i wish it would.  This week was a good one!!! TO START OFF!!! this is out of order but we're gonna start with the best. We had our lesson with Anthony and his family this week!! We walked up and they saw us from the window so they opened the door quick and were so excited to see us! when we came in, they told us they had made us dinner. and it was DELISH. can i just say i have never heard of that happening? THEY asked US to come teach, THEY made US dinner. its too good to be true. so we met Julianna his wife, and their two cutest daughters, Elizabeth and Josephine. They are the sweetest. So we sat and ate our really good chilli and taught the restoration! and it was PERFECT. they were asking questions and very involved. Anthony pulled out his Bible and i thought oh HERE it co...

Liberty Jail ¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos! For those of you that do not know I am still here in the CCM! Woo hoo! I am joking it has not been the funnest thing. So all the missionaries heading out had to get Covid tests on Saturday so I got my test. Sunday afternoon rolls around and they tell me that I tested positive and that I have to stay here another week. Not only that but I had to isolate myself in a house for the next five days. There are four of us Elders total that tested positive so I had some company. We would wake up, do lots of studying and then just sit around all day. We would get our food delivered and that is about it. Very boring things. If you have seen my Facebook I have been trying to post once a day about a topic about the gospel. It has been a fun experience finding a gospel topic to talk about. Share my testimony with my friends and family then I always end it with a question. That is my favorite part because I get to hear others opinions and get to see...
