Stolen bikes 🚲, Hurricanes 🌀, and Bongs 🚭
Kia ora. Its been almost two weeks because we have our temple trip today, so there was a lot of things that went on...
- tue we had interviews with pres. I think it was pretty rainy that day
- wed i had an exchange with elder na nonkai from Thailand. We had a couple good lessons but while we were door knocking we got invited into a home for 20 mins and when we came back out our bikes that we locked up on the pole were gone... we turned the corner and saw a bunch of kids huddled around our bikes. We started running after them and elder na nonkai grabbed his bike from some kids who had taken the wheel off for some reason and i kept running after a kid who started biking away with my bike. Thankfully that kid was pretty trash at biking cuz i caught up and he got off my bike and gave it back while saying. So the kids left and we got our bikes back haha it was pretty funny. Classic south auckland.
- thursday was easter zone con so we had some nice music and talks from pres and his wife. We had an easter egg hunt and played some games too which was super silly but actually heaps of fun
- that night we had a lesson and a really fun fhe with an inactive family
- fri we had weekly planning and nothing else too exciting
- saturday was pretty rough lol, we mowed a lawn in the morning and i had been feeling a little sick the past few days, but during lunch i was pretty clapped
- after lunch and a rest, we had a good visit w a refferal and we also found someone door knocking who we had a great doctrinal convo with.
- sunday we had the dedication of the auckland nz temple! Our mission temple is finally open! It was def a special day to do a temple dedication and hosaana shout on palm sunday. Even tho my comp forgot his temple reccomend haha we still got in and got to hear a bunch of great stuff from some 70 and elder kearon
- we had a lot of lessons lined but sadly a lot fell thru so that was rough
- we had one really good lesson that night with thing YW age girls we found and we were able to bring our YW president and shes the goat so the lesson went great and hopefully those yw girls will able to progress!
- Oh yeah also my comp got his phone this day too which was nice for him cuz he had gone a week with sharing my phone lol
- monday we had some good visits and we had one late night lesson that turned out super great. We got to talk to Angel and inspire him to come to church this sunday, so hopefully he will make it.
- tuesday was pretty sad. We had heaps of lessons lined up and they all fell thru but oh well, we still got to work
- Wednesday was the start of the cyclone. Apparently theres a cyclone thats hitting the country right now, im not really sure. I thought there would be heaps of rain and storm and stuff, but it was just really windy.
- anyways we had a fun dcm cuz ot was one of the elders b day.
- We had a good lesson with Lute who is ready to be baptized but she just doesnt want to because she doesnt want to be officially affiliated with our church. Keep her in your prayers and we'll keep working w her
- we had another good lesson with Louis who knows the church is true and he knows he wants to be baptized, but he expressed that he wants to build his faith in christ and understand the BoM some more before hes baptized. Pray for him too pls. Im positive he'll get baptized sometime in the near future, but prayers to help him build that faith will be awesome!
- thursday was day 2 of this cyclone. Still very windy with only a little rain, but we heared theres some flooding up north.
- we did weekly planning at the library for hours, also my comp almost lost his phone again but thankfully it was just in his backpak the whole time lol
- we had a lesson with our friend who is getting rebaptized on Saturday and when we went over to just do the final interview and baptism forms we saw that he was sitting outside holding a bong 😂. My and my comp kinda look at each other like, is that what we think that is? And so we went inside and reviewed the word of wisdom one last time lol and asked him abt the bong bc he said he stopped smoking months ago. He said it was his cousins and he was waiting outside for his cousin to come home so he could give it to him. We thought that was pretty suspicious but we asked him straight up if hes broken the word of wisdom anytime in the past month and he was like, nah. So we did the final interview and he answered all the questions all good. So the bro will still be baptized on saturday cuz we can only just take his word 🤷♂️ who am I to judge lol. Hes the man anyways
- anyways, thursday night we got a missionary who slept over at our flat cuz his comp is leaving to the islands. We chilled in the trio for da night
- today is day 3 of the cyclone and there was lots of rain this morning so that was cool, but still nothing too crazy.
- we are driving down the the hamilton temple for the last time because next transfer we will be at the auckland temple! Im sad that i wont see the hamilton temple again, but the drive to the new temple will be way shorter so it will be good.

Hopefully i get transferred becuase ive been in this area for 2 and its a pretty small area and im ready to get out. But oh well, ill go where the lord wants me to go. Arohanui!
Yo so i sent an email just a few days ago cuz it was my temple p day, so this one will juat be a short n sweet update.
- fri night we had a good lesson w len. Hes super keen to learn but hes just always so busy, hopefully he'll progress tho
- sat was super humid cuz it rained all night. I was sweating so much while we were biking, but it was still a great day!
- we got to see Airbase enter into the waters of baptism which was sick and we had a lot of good visits the rest of the day
- we also got a refferal from a fam that just moved from Malaysia and they wanted to come to church. The wife is super new to Christianity
- sunday was easter sunday! 1hr church was good and other then that, not much easter stuff went on lol
- the Malaysian family came to church and even though we had a crazy crackhead join for part of sacrament meeting, they still said they enjoyed church (the crazy guy got kicked out by the cops haha)
- we had a good lesson with our friend kimmie about a bunch of doctine and theological stuff. He said he was studying to get a degree in theology so we had an interesting chat w him
- we also had a lesson with that same Malaysian family and we taught the wife a bunch of basic principles of jesus christ. She shared with us her conversion story which was a crazy story and she said she wants to be baptized! She just said she wants to talk to her daughters and husband first so they can all be on the same page, but hopefully all will go well for her! Pray for Leena!
- today for p day we had a FHE with the President and his wife and the whole zone! It was super fun
- after that FHE we went straight to a part member familys house to do another FHE, we had heaps of fun and even put the 2 unbaptized kids on date! It should be awesome to work with them!
Thats all i got for ya. Transfers is on Thursday and we get the news tomorrow night. I want to stay because theres people i want to see progress, but at the same time i want to leave because the area is tiny and i want to see other parts of NZ! We'll see what the Lord has in store for me!
