🍍the handstand moments🐮 HELLO!!  This week seriously changed my whole life and was so so so crazy!!  The biggest thing that happened was Elder Cook for the quorum of the 12 came and visited Taiwan and our mission this week! The whole mission met on Thursday and when I say that it changed my whole life I mean it!! Listening to him speak was so powerful! The way he used the scriptures to teach us, talked about the prophet, and bore his testimony taught me so so much! What I really loved is how everything he said focused on Jesus Christ and as our purpose as missionaries! After he finished speaking he bore his testimony and words cannot describe the power in that room. But what I do know is that the spirit in that room was so strong it felt thick and I know that what he said was true! I know that Jesus really is the Christ and I am his servant and I am so so lucky!! We sang This is the Christ afterwards and the spirit was so strong I think everyone was crying. I know I w...

Kia ora e te whanau This week was pretty good. The auckland temple is about to open up next week so im keen for that. We've found some more friends so hopefully they will progress. Heres the rundown 📷https://photos.app.goo.gl/TQ33C4d8unDGQ4xA6 GARDNERS MISH 🇳🇿 376 new items · Album by James Gardner photos.app.goo.gl - not much on tuesday just did some finding and some visits - Wednesday was pretty average too. We had our ward council meeting that night and there was a little argument between some of the members lol that was funny - thur we went over to cori and talked abt what he belived just to gain more understanding. He said he remeber hearing about the spirit world when he went to church but he doesnt really remeber so we gave him some homework to study up on the spirit world - also played charades to help out with one of our new members and his baptism follow up lessons. Hes 11 and pretty funny - friday we met someone named junior, he might be the son of some less active ...

Dumelang u phela joang?  Howzit everyone! Im back for the semi annual Elder Hennessey Email from the one and only Jozi South Africa.  Its been a crazy few months but I will just go into some of the intresting things as well as the miracles of Course. Recently we have seen many great miracles in my current area (Katlehong). One of such came this past week and a half. Last week we were biking back to the chapel when we saw a man waving us down signing that he wanted to talk to us. Now usually we ignore such people.. not to be rude.. but because usually people out in the Kasi are Drunker than drunk and they love talking to white people. But this time as we were passing him We had the impression to turn back and talk to him. So we did. We began talking to him and he was asking what we were doing, guessing we were students or tourists. We explained who we were and he seemed interested so we got his phone number and then left. Monday night we got a text from him saying he was...

🐍🎆missionary detectives🧐 HAPPY YEAR OF THE SNAKE!!! I'm not lying that this week has been the most crazy, unreal, stressful, and most miracle filled week of my WHOLE mission!!  During 過年 Guonian or Chinese New Year our mission had a challenge of which zone could get the most videos, referrals, return appointments, and chapel tours. So this whole week was go go go!! We had 2 member meals every single day this week and it was so good and it was so cool to get closer to the members and laugh with them. So much happened this week haha but these are two of my favorite stories from this week:) it's super long so you can only read the parts you want:) THE BIKE THEIF On Tuesday we started with finding at Taizhong park with half of our zone! We met a lot of really cool people and it was a good way to start the week but then right when we got back to our bikes to go to our member meal we realized Sisters Ward was GONE!! Taiwan is so so safe haha so it was unreal that someone would ...

Last week in central Auckland? Kia ora te whanau im writing this right before bed on p day lol sorry its gonna be short. Heres sum highlights  - exhanges with elder cooper b4 he went up to the cooks. One last run w him was pretty good. We saw some miracles. One was that I stopped at newly built houses and i said that the holy ghost was telling me we need to knock em (said that as a joke mostly) . The first door were members that cooper met the day before, that was crazy. They had just moved in. The other door was sum1 who moved in and said come back later. We came back a week later and he was super keen on the temple and we got a return appt so that was clutch - got a sick monopoly tie from sunny at english class that night and cooper and i ran some pickleball. He said he won both games but i swear i won the first one. Maybe im in denial - blitz for the sisters area was decent - another exchange across zones cuz elder yapi went to the doctors with another elder out west so w...

Death by Apple Juice This week we had six member meals, MLC, and Zone Conference! Needless to say it was a busy week full of miracles! And on top of that it was Lunar New Year! Which meant fireworks and karoke in the apartments around us until the wee hours of the morning. 新年快樂🐍🎆 Zone Conference was amazing! My favorite thought was just that when we go teach people about Jesus we are just helping them remember. Because no matter where on earth we are from we all met our Brother premortally when we lived with him!  This week as we went and visited the members we shared the story about how Jesus Christ invited his disciples to come follow me and how they straightaway left their nets and followed him! We would ask the members if Jesus asked them to come follow me how they would respond. We then asked how can we follow him today? The answers ranged from funny to heartbreaking but it ultimately all went down to I can follow his commandments. So I just want to invite you all to ...
