| Using my head this Christmas |
HO HO HO
it's time for an update from sœur Koger update
To be honest I don't remember the last time I sent out an email. It can't have been that long ago but I have no recollection of what I wrote and I must have deleted it to save storage but I'll update you with what I'm pretty sure I haven't already shared;
I moved ! I was living in the Paris region for a few months (August till right before Christmas) I am so grateful for the people I met there. They made me feel like I was the missionary I want to become:')
Now I'm here in Rennes and I got here just in time for Christmas, and let me tell you it is so french here. In my last sector everyone was from all over the world and here, everyone was not only born here but so were their great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandparents. We had some amazing steryotypical french Christmas meals with the amazing members here. (Lots of courses)
The city is cute and cold (which is funny because I would describe all of my past areas in the same way)
Email title story :
For our district pday a couple weeks ago we went to la defense for the Christmas markets to do a secret Santa gift exchange. I bought cheese and got a baret:) but on the way back there was a very full metro and I wasn't sure if my comp was going to try and get on so I held on to her but then she got pushed in by the person behind her and the rest of the district followed us but the doors closed on the trainee and he hopped out, nor wanting to get separated from him our dl hoped out too but unfortunately he took a wrong step and his leg got stuck between the metro and the platform... I knew that if the doors closed again the metro would leave and he would either loose his foot or get really badly injured. So using my head, because the rest of me was being pressed by the people in the full metro I stopped the metro door with my head. It gave him time to get his foot out. We met up with them at the next stop and talked about those wild 5 seconds of chaos lol.
On a spiritual note:
God is truly a God of miracles. I finished the book of mormon again this morning and I read about how the same spiritual gifts that we read about in the scriptures still exist today. If they didn't God wouldn't be the same. But we believe that God is the same today, yesterday and forever. Our mission had a goal of 276 baptisms this year. It may seem little to people not serving in France but that number has never been even close to what France has seen in the past. We got 279. I wasn't able to watch but two people that I was able to teach in my last area got baptized one this Saturday and the other the Saturday before. God really is hastening the work. I'm so grateful to be a part of it.
Love you all. God loves you too
Sœur Koger
Ps if you have any left over Christmas cards I'd love to see them, I'll hang them up on our fridge;)
