Sister Cheyenne Skinner: 10/21/24

Because OHIO🏄

This week I had my first conversation in English with a kid under 6 in over a year and it went something like this "I heard you like America, why?" 5 year old friend "BECAUSE OHIO" he's never been to Ohio or America but Ohio has his heart❤️ (haha does that sound familiar?)    NORTH DAKOTA


This week was CRAZY!! Here are some things that happened🍨

- because of our mission competition we have been keeping count of rejections and because of that when someone is actually willing to meet with us I'm a little disappointed! But honestly this challenge has really pushed me and it's crazy how the Lord has helped us be more effective!

- we gave a church tour in the middle of our deep law of Chastity lesson... but our friend that we were teaching law of chasity still is on baptism date and the friend that we gave the tour with set a time to meet this next week soooo it all works out for the good!

- we were on the way to go to a park this week but it just did not feel right so after biking a little we stopped in our tracks and went to the completely other side of our area on a random street that felt right! We then found a night market and met super cool people there! It's super true the lord knows where we need to be!

- went on a crazy exchange with Sister Bartholomew in Wufeng!! Which involved meeting a referral who wanted us to give her money, watching tennis while finding, and getting locked out of the apartment in the morning after running😁 hehe we got in eventually no worries 🙊

- AND SO MUCH MORE HAPPENED THIS WEEK but since this is already long I want to tell you this one last thing!!


When I went on this exchange I was feeling super down and felt so inadequate and the whole day I was praying that the Lord would help me do what He needed me to do! That night we met with Wufengs friend and it was so crazy because as soon as she sat down she said that she had been not good recently and when we asked why she said because she felt weak. It was super duper cool because we then talked about weakness the whole 30 minutes and not only was it spiritual for our friend but it really felt like the lord was teaching me too and THEN later this week we were with our friend and she told us she felt like she had too many shortcomings and her faith wasn't enough and she just felt WEAK. It was just so so powerful to really be able to testify of Jesus Christ's grace and love and most importantly Jesus Christ's atonement and how much He really could help us. 


Something I've thought about a lot though is that if I also hadn't been feeling super weak this week I don't think I would've been as able to help them. Then while studying general conference this week I found this quote!


"Although we face many difficulties, I know they are there in part to allow us to help others feel the love of our Heavenly Father."

I really believe this is true! God loves us so so much! Our difficulties really can help us help others and God hopes that we will turn to each other to lift others and to find comfort in others!


Anyway I hope that makes sense and most of all I hope you know GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!

  7/21/25 Sorry i dont have much time tonight. This week was amazing.  - temple on tuesday was awesome - healing from my infection in my leg and im cleared to still go to raro on thursday - lots of lessons this week - exchanges with the APs - lots of spirit felt and testimony grown of the saviors atonement  - ward conference - amazing lesson to set a baptismal date with your friend nate - district FHE with mission president and his wife to celebrate us winning in our challenge this transfer As a mission we just hit our baptismal goal for 3 transfers in a row now. With the goal increasing drastically each transfer. It is amazing to see the Lord progressing his work here in auckland and i feel very blessed to be a part of it. I gave had a strong testimony building week and i am on a spiritual high. I really want to keep this going and keep relying on the lord in all things! I have loved this transfer and the many hardships have made it a very special transfer in my mission....

 Bike Problems Kia Orana Sorry i got no time for this email. This week was awesome as always. We found lots of new people which is always exciting. We had lots of bike problems this weekend and i also crashed on the bike lol. Anyways, in keen for this next upcoming week. We are gonna be pushing yo get a lot of ppl at sacrament so they can see the blessings that come from it! I'm loving my area, the branch is awesome, everyone is so sweet and God is good! Ka kite!

  Happy Tuesday morning!! ☀️☀️ it’s a lovely day so far:) Ok! So here’s an experience I have been feeling like I want to share with you all: Maybe a week ago? Ish? I was in the temple for to do initiatories. I can’t remember if I had an appointment or I was just walking in… I think I was just walking in.  The PCC temple has a really good system for helping people who walk in w/out an appointment be able to do initiatories. However after they got my name and all that jazz they asked me to sit in the front area where the desk is instead of in the back near the booths bc the benches back there were full. This was sorta upsetting to me, I had gone that day really hoping to be able to feel the spirit. But being up there near the desk meant I had to try and tune out all the happenings and chatting there. Recently I’ve discovered that when I’m anxious I can get pretty sound sensitive. So if there’s any noise going on it can completely overwhelm me with anxious thoughts.  I start...
