Elder Gardner: 9/9/24

 

We got kidnapped! 😮😮

Kia ora whanau!

This week has been really good! We did not actually get kidnapped. A kind man who knows about the missionaries, but isn't part of the church, just gave us a ride home on Wednesday 😂. It was a bit dangerous to get in this random guy's car but I'll always go in strangers cars if they promise me candy.

Tuesday we just had a pretty normal day, we met someone who seemed interested so tha'ts sweet! We just have to get in contact with them again which is hard because they are a flight attendant for nz air.

Wednesday was pretty average too. We met this Samoan man who's a member, but he hasn't gone to church in a while and i think us coming over really inspired him to get back to church so that's amazing. And he dropped dinner off for us the next night! We also had english class and me and elder ORiordan met these 2 guys from peru which was sweet because we were able to practice our spanish (we have a 15 day streak on duolongo 😉) with them. They were super funny and englush class is always a good time.

Thursday was really busy! We had to get on a lot of video calls during the day so we went to the chapel to use the wifi in the morning. We made some visits but then elder ORiordan starting feeling a little sick so we went back to our flat and he layed down for a while which was good for me too bc i had to catch up on mu BoM reading lol. 

Friday was fun! We got to meet with a friend we are teaching named ngamatuea. He is funny as. He had a lot of questions for us and we had a really good chat, we should be going over every friday for lessons with him which is sweet, but he still isnt super interested in the gospel. We just answer his questions ahaha. 

    That night we met up with brownie, whos a returning member that we are working with. Shes super sweet and we talked for a while and invited her to chruch. 

    After that we had food at a members house and we had a great chat with them, they gave us a big box of pizza to take home and they thought we had a car, but oh well. We just biked home with these boxes of pizzas in our hands haha.

Saturday was pretty good. We talked to our funny cat lady neighbor, Robyn. Shes super sweet and really funny. We also talked with our neighbor Alex. Hes kinda weird and it was an awkward chat with him cuz he kinda crazy, but we made it out alive. 

     That night we went into the city for dinner becuase our ward mission leader has a daughter who is going on her mission this week! They celebrated her mission and were nice to invite us to come as well. We went to this super good indian place in the city and we got to walk around the sky tower which was sick at night time!

Sunday was great! It was fasting testimony so i didnt get to eat breakfast or lunch 😬 but i made it. Our returning member Brownie came and she even bore her testimony which was amazing! We had dinner with a member and it was a great day overall! 

Today we are planning on going to some thrift stores which im hyped about and maybe we will go to the planetarium! Should be fun!

Thats about it for this week! Nothing too crazy but it was really fun! Email me anytime yous all can!

     The lord knows us all personally! Even if we forget him at times, he will never forget us! He is the perfect example of unconditional love! So when you need a bit of comfort then reach out to the lord because his hand is always stretched out towards you!
