@ALL I LOVE YOU!!

I hope you all are doing grand and enjoying the summer heat! This whole month I have been wondering why my craving for Ice cream hasn't gone away BUT then one day we finally decided to look at the weather app and THEN it all started to make sense!! 🥵🍦🍦🍨🤩

So last week on Monday our friend took us and the Senior missionaries to a 廟 or Taoist temple and he taught us how to 拜拜 baibai or worship? It was actually so so cool to finally understand what people are saying when they say they are 拜拜的~  coming to Taiwan I've learned a lot about Buddhism and Taoism and it's really cool to see the culture of Buddhism and Taoism but going there made me so grateful that in our church we have a chance to have a personal relationship with God and that God wants to speak with us! We don't have to use wooden blocks to get answers to our prayer and that's life changing ❤️

We also got to go to Sister Ashtons Midpoint this week so we got to go to Gaoxiong!!! And we got to see the temple site because it's right by the church

This week was also our wards first Sunday combined so church was way exciting! There was so many people there and we had all our new members, 3 inactive members, and 2 friends coming so it felt like a success but the best thing was seeing all the members love each other and welcome our friends and start to meet each other!

Anyway this week was crazy! But it was really cool to see how the Lord gave us random opportunities like randomly being on the news for a church's donate blood activity or having someone offer us a ride 2 minutes before it pours and getting to share with her what it's like to be a missionary! I know that God loves us so much and that His work is going on in all places and I'm so thankful I get the chance to be a part of it❤️

HAPPY JULY 29TH!! and pioneer day?

 

This week typhoon Gaemi hit Taiwan and it made this week an adventure! Most of the people I've talked to have said that this is one of the worst Typhoons they have seen in a long time SO I feel very lucky that I've gotten to experience some of Taiwans worst earthquakes and Typhoons! A lot of our ward members had their houses flood because the rain kept coming down but no worries 現在比較好❤️ 

Here are some of my favorite highlights from this week! 

TENNIS FINDING!!!!!

- From the start of my mission when I saw that Elders got to go basketball finding I have only been a lotta jealous and decided one day I would go tennis finding BUT THEN this week we went somewhere we haven't been and there was a tennis court!! There was a guy that was hitting against a board and we decided to go talk to him and he let us use his tennis racket (his tennis racket is the same as mine at home❤️❤️❤️) anyway moral of the story even though it was SO FUN to talk to him the coolest thing was to hear his story! We got his number and he said we could meet with him again 🎾 

AND THEN!!

Tuesday night it started to rain pretty hard and we thought about going back to be safe but then we felt we should knock one more street so we did and then on that street we met two people who said we could meet with us and they gave us their number. It was crazy how the lord led us to that place and we also got to do some more finding before we would be stuck in our apartment for 3 days because of all the rain❤️

STUCK IN THE APARTMENT 

So being stuck in the apartment is not a vibe... especially when your water tastes like metal and you think it is probably the reason you all feel sick haha... BUT we were able to call a lot of people and still meet with people and we were able to see so many miracles from it anyway. It just shows that nothing stops the Lord's work!

3 Nephi 17:21

21 And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them.

I read this verse this week and it hit so different! Just pause for a second and realize that Jesus Christ took every single child and prayed for them one by one and I love that they said he cried. Jesus Christ had just barely died and felt everything these children would feel. But the coolest thing is I know that he feels that for you! He cries with you and he knows where you have been but he also knows where you can go.
