Sister Cheyenne Skinner: 4/8/24
This week I learned a lot of new Grammer! Haha but most of it had to do with Earthquakes...
I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me or my family! I definitely felt all your love and prayers! All the missionaries are okay and even though it was the biggest earthquake Taiwan has had in 25 years it was only about a 4-5 in Taichung. The scariest was seeing the videos from Hualien where it was the worst. I'm going to tell you my earthquake experience but it might be long haha so if you don't want to read it then feel free to skip this one😁
WEDNESDAY MORNING
On Wednesday morning Sister Eisermann and I happened to come back from exercising 10 minutes earlier! Which was such a miracle because if we had come back any later we wouldve been in the elevator or on the 15th floor which wouldve been much worse than the 9th floor. But anyway we got back to the apartment and I was just standing there when all of a sudden my companion came in asking if we felt that at the same time Sister Lee (the sister from Taiwan) dropped under the table. I was really confused at that point haha when it finally clicked that the ground was shaking... haha but that's when it started really shaking. Sister Lee told us to turn off the lights and then come under the table and that was probably the scariest part. Honestly it really did feel like a earthquake drill that you do in Elementary school. Sister Lee was just munching on her guava and the rest of us were just kinda awkwardly under the table. I think the worst part was just not knowing when the shaking would stop. But it eventually did! There has been a lot of aftershocks in the past days too. It's super weird because the earth will just start shaking and then you just keep doing your normal day things. Haha I love Taiwan. It's been really interesting to hear everybody's stories. Some people we have talked to were really shaken by the earthquake and others tell us it happens all the time. But we all have been praying for Hualien where it was the worst! Anyway the end!
ANOTHER MIRACLE THIS WEEK
This week on Friday we had a fire DCM where we talked about digging deep and grinding. So Sister Eisermann and I were finding Friday night and we were supposed to go but we both had a feeling that we needed to stay. So we kept talking to people and finally on our way back to our bikes we said hi to someone and she was so excited to talk to us. She told us that she had wanted to go to church recently but she didn't know where. She then asked if we would be willing to go to her house sometime and share a message 😮 haha soo we did the next day and it was CRAZY! She told us how it was fate that she happened to be there because she wasn't supposed to be and we told her that actually it was God's plan because we weren't supposed to be there either! Anyway I know that God has so many miracles out there for us but sometimes that means putting in that extra 20 minutes to see it. The devil fights extra hard right before we are about to reach the victory and I know that's true! Don't give up there's seriously miracles right at the next corner.
