Sister Cheyenne Skinner: 4/15/24
Heyyy!
I just want you all to know I miss you and love you! That's all!
This week there's been a lot of stumbling blocks but also SO many incredible things. Isn't that so cool how you can have both? In the very beginning of the Book of Mormon Nephi starts by saying that
Nephi 1:1 I Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my day.
Every time I start to read the Book of Mormon that stands out to me. Why do you think that he chose to start the whole book of Mormon by saying that He had afflictions? Wouldn't you want to start with the good? This is why I think the Lord chose this verse to start but I would love to know what you all think!
I think its because of course we are going to have afflictions! How else would we grow? How else would we fully experience the good if we only ever had good? But luckily the Lord didn't leave us alone in the bad and he's there with us in ALL our days good and bad(notice that he didn't say most of our days he said ALL) even when and especially when we are going through hard times He is right there. I promise that as you reach out to Him for strength, comfort, and happiness. He can help you find it!
Here are two miracles that happened this week😊
- we were able to watch conference with our recent convert and afterwards we were talking and she told us that she really liked a part because before she was baptized she liked coming to the church because she could feel the spirit but once she came home she didn't feel it anymore and she didn't think getting baptized would change anything but now she notices that the spirit is with her always. I wish I could explain how huge that is for her to say that. Watching this friend grow closer to Lord and change has been one of the coolest experiences I've had on my mission.
- we were able to have dinner with the Philippino member and the English Elders! This is the lady that Sister Cooper and I found in December and she told us that on the day we found her she had been praying to know what her purpose was and she just felt really down and then that was the day we found her! It just really shows that God is aware of all of His children. As we were talking to her about that experience the spirit was SO strong. God's love for His children is SO strong.
Sorry that was so long but I hope you all know that SISTER CHEYENNE SKINNER 阮姐妹 LOVES YOU! DONT FORGET HOW IMPORTANT YOU ARE! YOU ARE MAKING AN IMPACT ON THE WORLD
