Elder Hennessey: 4/8/24
Dumelang Everyone!
It's been a fat minute since my last email eskees. It's been a wild few weeks. For the sake of time I'll be brief.
Bakkie breakdown: I witnessed our car get absolutely destroyed by a massive rock. I was backing the car up and thought to myself "Maybe I should move that massive rock" but of course I ignored the spirit as I thought my companion would clear it... well... 1 quick slide on gravel later he hit the rock and I watched as it slammed into the back of the front bumper ripping it out😅
Peace Out: I left Lesotho! After Six months of being in Masianokeng and the wonderful Branch inside of it. For our final pday we spent a total of 9 hours driving across the country to see a massive concrete wall... no joke. It's called Katse Dam, second biggest in the world. I'd give some dad jokes but that wouldn't be consecrated.
In with the new: Welcome to Blomanda! I am now serving in a township known as "Blomanda" which is right next to the town Bloemfontein. My companion Elder Mendoza is from the Philippines and he's awesome! Also my Zone Leader (Elder Ewing) is a Springville Red Devil himself! (And I'm totally not going to use him as a packing mule for stuff to send home when he goes home). Another fun fact about me and Elder Ewing is that... we have been in each other's front yards and attended school together... and yet it took 10k mile trip to Africa to meet each other.
General Conference: Conference was powerful as always and I hope and pray all of you who watched or listened ended it feeling inspired and with answers to questions. (I am still lost on the 2 more Utah temples thing but oh well)
Baptisms!: In Masianokeng I had a total of 13 Baptisms! And now here in Blomanda we have 11 more Baptisms this month! Absolutely insane!
There was many things in between these main events but I definitely cannot fit it all on this email. I hope everyone is having an amazing time of your life! To end here is a quote to ponder on.
Salegathe!
