Patience, Patience, Patience, Please
Words of my mission president in English and he doesn't speak English.
This week has been that phrase to a tee. God has been asking for my patience a lot and I think I was able to show at least a little bit this week. Lots of trying to find new people and working in unity as a companionship, but with the amazing blessing of General Conference!
Alright big summary of the week was Tuesday to Friday were all very similar. Passing by the friends we already have. Many of them not being home or not having time. Then trying to find new friends. Asking for referrals from members. Contacting many houses and asking if they would like to share with us. We have been able to find some people that have interest. The difficult part is finding our friends again and having a second lesson. It's very easy to contact people in their house and if they're home teach them something small. Finding them again is very complicated. That's where we are at in our area. We are trying to find who will progress and is willing to make covenants with our Heavenly Father. It rained a ton this week because the weather is changing so that's a huge blessing. It also means getting completely soaked when it rain which is a blast jaja! The highlight of the week was no doubt General Conference. It's the best on the mission because first off, I've grown so much spiritually, I understand a lot more, it's an approved little break. I can confidently say that this General Conference was my favorite of all time. I've never felt the spirit so strong in everysingle talk. It's my last here in the mission so I think that helped because I've learned so much about myself. I can't choose a favorite talk honestly. I'm just so thankful for living prophets.
I wish I could just sit with each of you and explain to you why this General Conference was so amazing. There was so many talks about covenants, pray, our testimonies, the power of scriptures, temples, everysingle one was amazing. There were so many amazing quotes that I will think about the rest of my life. "Here a ray, there a ray" "Higher Joy" "Call don't Fall" "Priesthood keys are infinite and breathtaking" "Thank you, I'm sorry, I love you" "There is joy in being a disciple of Jesus Christ" "There are miracles and angels today" "You and I are witnesses that testify" "Take off your beggers coat" "Don't ask why, ask what can I learn?" "No one serving in God's kingdom serves alone" "Come what may all will be fine because of temple covenants" "Covenant confidence in Christ" "Any feelings of hesitancy to pray does not come from God. Heavenly Father wants to hear his children"
I testify of the power of these words. These are living breathing scriptures. I can't help but smile and the fact we having living growing revelation. Study these talks, apply the teaching in your lives, grow as a disciple of Christ. We had an amazing miracle where, if you remember Mirian, she with her family watch conference! We stopped by her house after conference and I kid you not she said "Susan gave a really good talk about prayer, I loved her three things to focus on, pray to know, pray to grow, and pray to show." I was dumbfounded. She remembered Sister Porters name and remembered perfectly her lesson. Mirian and her family are so little by little progressing. We talked about having the temple as their goal and they are so excited. Please keep them in your prayers.
One of the biggest lessons I'm taking from General Conference is bettering my prayers. Even last night I said one of the most sincere prayers I've ever had and I felt an amazing peace. God loves us he wants us to feel his love. Do what you can to always be able to feel it. I am always going to study more and more about my covenants I've made so I can have more access to the blessings from these amazing promises I've made. This is the only true church on earth. It's simple. Christ is the head. He leads his prophets. We are his disciples.
Well that's it for this week! Thanks for reading my email! Transfers are this week so we'll see what happens. I could leave or stay. I have no idea what's going to happen. If I'm leaving I'll be heading to my last area in my mission. I'm so thankful that I can be Christ's representative and be his missionary. I love you all so much! I am so grateful for the kind messages I receive from all of you and the support I have from you. God loves you, and I love you.
¡Adiós!
Love, Elder Acor
