Like Father like Son
¡Haupei! ¿¡Cómo están ustedes!?
I hope you're all doing fantastic. I hope you all had a good week as well and that you had the opportunity to listen to some General Conference talks again. If not go and listen to one today! This week was crazy with easily the coolest thing that has happened on my mission so stay tuned.
Tuesday we were able to have our last district council as a district. We also had to say goodbye to a really cool hermana who finished her mission which was sad. I've been seeing lots of deaths lately. Then I got to go on exchanges with THE Elder Halls (aka Hallscito) It was such a blast and we couldn't stop talking to each other about everything. We are super good friends so it was good to just talk about everything. He's also from my group so we finish together. We also had served together a lot previously. We also had some amazing miracles happen in exchanges which was awesome. Even better is that my trainee didn't die leading the area! That's a successful dad moment right there. I also got to eat skittles which was a highlight because those are super rare.
Wednesday was much less crazy. We made some good visits with our friends and we were even able to find a couple of new people. We also had a meeting to talk about missionary work in the area.
Thursday there was a lot of stress because in the morning we received our transfer news. We got it a little later but it wasn't too late. I got news that I would be going to Villarrica and that my new companion will be Elder Fernandez! Elder Fernandez is 23 and he's from Argentina and I'm going to kill him! He going to finish his mission this transfer and then I'm up next transfer. Alright the coolest thing about this transfer is that when my dad served here in Paragauy about thirty-five years ago he served here in Villarrica! It's so crazy that I have the opportunity to serve in the same place as my dad! Thursday night was my time to say goodbye to all the amazing people from Las Lomitas. It was super hard to say goodbye but I'm so grateful for the time that had in that area.
Friday I was off. I said goodbye to my son Elder Havili and I was off to the mission office. As always it was super fun to see mission friends. I even got to see someone from my home stake who's just starting the mission Elder Child! That's was super cool. Traveling to Villarrica was a bit of an adventure. It's right in the middle of our mission and it takes about four hours to get here from the office. They almost didn't let me take off my suitcases from the bus because they were shoved from the back. Luckily, and thanks to Heavenly Father, they let me dig them out. Then I got to officially meet my new companion who I've already know a little bit for awhile. He's super awesome and we are just two really old missionaries together. Something very different about this area is that it's huge. It's a little overwhelming thinking I could walk for a day straight in any direction and I'd still be in my area. I've been pretty tired at the end of our days from walking so much but it's awesome!
Saturday was more of a normal day. We left the house not knowing exactly who we should pass by first and standing there waiting an inactive member came up to us and told us he wants us to visit him. We were also working in the morning and it started to pour raining. We got completely soaked. We were able to eat lunch at home and changed then in the afternoon it didn't rain. Me being in this new area I'm trying to just absorb everything. The places the names and everything do that I can learn nice and fast.
Sunday was Fast Sunday so that was super awesome. It was going to rain after church so sadly we had about 17 people come to church, BUT we had a super escogido or elect person come to church. We invited him in text and he came. He felt the spirit super strong during testimony meeting that he said he even wanted to go up and give a testimony to feel what everyone else was feeling. After church is starting raining like crazy and proceeded not to stop raining all day. The weather is changing so it's just raining 24/7 for the next couple weeks.
What a week. Literally an insane week with, like I said, one of the coolest things that has happened in my mission which is serving in the same area as my dad. I have a friend that told me at the end of my mission God will start to give me thank yous for my service. Well I couldn't think of a greater thank you than serving in an area where my dad served. God has been so good to me my whole mission. Sometimes I just sit and think why does God bless me so much. Truly I don't think I deserve it but I try my best to be worthy to deserve it. My mission is winding down and it's a very weird feeling. I had a very distinct feeling that I'm going to miss being one of God's dedicated servants. So I'm trying my best! As my mom told me a quote "Make it matter" I'm making these last two and a half months really matter for me. I really feel good in this area and I'm excited to see the miracles that we can find in this area.
Well that's it for this crazy week! I hope you all enjoyed reading my email! Also I am very far from people so now I have tons of time on pdays so feel free to email me and I'll respond! It's also crazy like crazy right now so I have all the time in the world. Have an amazing week!
¡Chau!
Love, Elder Acor
PS Just to clarify for everyone, when I say I'm going to kill my comp it's not because I hate him but it's because he's going to finish his mission this transfer 😆 he's awesome and I love him.
