Elder Hennessey: 3/4/24
Teaching the King👑
Dumelang everyone! You already know it wouldn't be an Elder Hennessey email if it weren't weeks after the last one! Just gotta keep you on your toes.
These past few weeks have been full of chaos and driving for unprecedented amounts of time but hey, it's the lords work so what can you do.
Recently we had 3 baptisms in one day which brings my total to 8 in my mission. (That is not pride talking just a statistical fact)
But of course you were probably only really reading this email to see what the title of it is all about. Well let me just say its not even my story to tell😂
So we have 2 sets of senior couples in Lesotho. One of them has just recently arrived and so the other senior couple took them out to lunch. As they went they ran into the king at the place they were eating! Elder Lyman was brave enough to go talk to him and after sharing a quick message the king then told him he wants to meet again sometime and they should set up an appointment with him. After hearing about this story I talked to Elder Lyman and negotiated that me and Elder Rakobeli join in the lesson. (Cause I mean hey, my companion is from Lesotho.) Elder Lyman agreed so I have a slight chance that I might be having King Letsie III of Lesotho on my calendar of lessons. But I guess we will have to wait and see.
For my spiritual thought I just thought I could share my testimony about patriarchal Blessings. Throughout these 6 months of my mission (which is insane) one thing that has kept me going is my patriarchal blessing. This blessing is a direct message from our father in heaven and I would strongly encourage all who can receive one to get one if they don't have theirs already. This blessing is a gift given to us to guide us through our lives. Especially through times of hardship and tough decisions. If you have your patriarchal blessing I would invite you to read and ponder it. Whether you are Inactive or active in the church. No matter your past or your current life, I can promise you that as you read it and ponder it in your heart, you will be able to truly feel God's love for his children. His love for YOU especially. Read it, ponder it, pray about it. And as you do so look at what God asks of you and think about if you are doing those things or are on the right track. If so, continue forward, if not, pray and ask God to know what step you should take to get back on the covenant path. I know that Patriarchal Blessings are important for us to have in our lives to truly understand our identity. It is important to have so that we can feel God's love and guidance for us each and everyday. And I leave that in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
I hope everyone is seeing the beautiful blessings in their lives! Until Next time!
Love, The one and only. Elder Hennessey
