Elder Acor: 3/4/24
Fifth Times the Charm y ¡Vamos Mirian, Adriana, y Rodney!
¡Hola, Hola, Hola, a cada uno de ustedes!
I had an extremely full week this week! It was super awesome and so many things happened! So many blessings and miracles and God showing his love for us!
Monday night we were able to go visit Mirian, Adriana, and Rodney to help them get ready for there baptism on Saturday. Then walking down the street we ran into one of the councilors in our Elder's Quorum and he was actually going to pass by with the Elder's Quorum president to have a family night, so we were able to join them. What a miracle!
Tuesday was a good day. We had our final district council for the transfer. We did a cool activity where we saw our pictures from our trainings. We then got to share how much we've changed. It was super cool. Then we had to say goodbye to Hermana Rich who finished her mission so that was pretty sad. She got to Paraguay with me so that's officially all the hermanas from my group have finished their missions. It also rained a ton this day which wasn't too fun because it makes it really hard for people to want to listen to us.
Wednesday was a pretty chill day. It was super hot though. We were also able to teach Mirian, Adriana, and Rodney as well little by little getting them ready for their baptisms.
Thursday was a little crazy. Thursdays are the days we get transfer news. Usually we get it Thursday early in the morning but this time we got the news after lunch. We got news that I would be staying here in Las Lomitas and that I would be training again. For those of you wondering this will be the fifth missionary that I've trained. Call me papáguazú. My new comps name is Elder Havili and he's Polynesian and from Odgen Utah. He's 18 and the oldest of 9 siblings. He's got lots of greenie energy which is awesome and he has really good Spanish for a greenie. The rest of Thursday we spent doing a little tour of all the members so that Elder Dalley could say goodbye to everyone.
Friday morning we had our official transfers. We headed to the mission office early in the morning. There was tons of missionaries there. I always love seeing everyone there because I get to see all my friends. Then I chilled out at the offices until the training of all the new missionaries started. These trainings are always awesome and get me really motivated. Also this transfer my son's training too! Elder Bauman who I trained almost a year ago is also training. Also Elder Alvarenga who I trained a year ago is also training! It was cool seeing all of them. Made me feel really old too because I was one of the oldest trainers. We then ate McDonald's for lunch and we headed to our area. That night we tried to do Mirian, Adriana, and Rodney's bautismal interviews but they weren't home. We then got some Lomitos so that my comp could try those for the first time and they were super good.
Saturday was a very full day with lots of things to do. In the morning we went with our new district leader, Elder Halls, to do the baptismal interviews for Mirian, Adriana, and Rodney. Also I served with Elder Halls in Encarnación and we were in the same district for three transfers. He's an awesome missionary. We then spent the afternoon filling up the font and getting everything set up for the baptisms. Everything went really well with the baptisms and Mirian, Adriana, and Rodney were all so happy. Elder Havili was able to have his first baptism on the mission as well! We also had a good turn out of members to come and support. We ate some good pizza and cake to celebrate.
Sunday was a very good day. We got to go to church and take the sacrament which is always a blessing. Adriana and Rodney came so they could get confirmed. Sadly Mirian was feeling sick so she didn't come to church but Adriana and Rodney did so everything went well with that! I was able to confirm them both. It was an awesome experience. Then we went and worked in the afternoon and I got to finally have some real lessons with Elder Havili. He's honestly awesome. He shares what he wants and isn't afraid of messing up and the people understand him. We are going to see lots of success together I just know it.
Throughout this week I've been thinking about all the efforts I've put into my mission. Everytime I've studied, contacted someone, bore my testimony, smiled, prayed, and so on and so on. Every effort I've put into the mission has not been wasted. Heavenly Father has been taking every effort, no matter how big or small, and helping me reach my goals. Everything I've done in the mission would not be possible with out Christ's strength. Everyday I see that my efforts are being doubled or tripled thanks to God. So even when sometimes I feel like what I'm doing isn't doing anything or however inadequate I feel. God's makes everything adequate.
Well that's everything for this crazy week! I'm so grateful that I have another chance to train and that we were able to help three of our friends get baptized! This week was great and I hope and pray they just keep getting better. Have a fantastic week!
¡Adíos!
Love, Elder Acor
