Be An Example!
¡Hola a todos!
I hope you've all had a great week! Hopefully you've been able to feel Christ's love for you. Hopefully you've also had some opportunities to grow and help others!
My week was a little everywhere so I'll try and just give a general summary. This week we focused a lot on working with our recent converts. Passing by them and helping them grow their faith. With working with them we also try and teach their friends and families because with these recent converts their testimonies are so strong that they are a huge help. It also helps them grow their faith by sharing it.
Another thing we've been focusing on this week is finding new people to teach. We've had lots of friends progress and be baptized so now we're on the find grind. It's fun but also difficult. There's lots of rejection and lots of people who want to argue, but when you find that person that really prepared it feels great. I've been using my comps greenie energy a lot too. He wants to go contact someone we are there talking with them, or he wants to go help someone with something we're there. It's nice having someone with lots of energy that pushes me to be better, even when it's hard.
I know this area can have even more success we just have to work and work and work and then have patience. That's the only way that we are going to see more people making the covenant of baptism here in this area. The Lord has already put so many people in our path and I can only hope and pray that it keeps going like that so we can help so many others. For example last week with Mirian, Adriana, and Rodney. They were put into our path and we could teach them. Mirian was even able to be confirmed this Sunday so now everyone in the family is a member!
I've had some people ask me. What's the best thing to do when training? Or what can I do to be the best trainer? I've been thinking about that a lot. Every time I train I feel incredibly inadequate and incapable. Maybe I forget to teach something or show another thing. Really the only thing that helps teach and show others what to do is by being an example. I've been reading and learning about President Nelson's life and everyone talks about what he does and how he acts. How he's incredibly kind, patience, divisive, persistent, loving, and on and on. Every single one of these attributes are apart of him. It's what he shows others. It's who he is. He doesn't sit and tell people the secret to being kind or how to have patience. He shows people by his actions, by doing it! Reading about his life makes me want to try and be more like him. Not just that but I know that President Nelson really is just trying to be like the best example of them all. Who is Jesus Christ! We can follow Christ's example and be more like him. Yes that's very difficult. For that reason we have his servants, the prophets, to also guide us and be examples! When we can do the right things without saying, telling, or showing others. That's what being an example is. That's my goal! I want to be an example to others. I know I am far from being one but little by little I'm growing. The me now is better than the me that started the mission. I'm incredibly imperfect, but I'm improving. Remember, others are always watching to see what decisions we make, so choose now to be an example.
That's all I have for this week! Thank you for reading my email. I hope and pray you all have a good week and can be an example for others and be Christ's disciples.
¡Chau!
With so much love, Elder Acor
