¡Vamos Thiago!
¡Mabetekopio! ¿Cómo están todos?
I hope that everyone had an amazing week this week. If not, you always have next. My week was a lot more chill than the week before so that's good. We were able to see so many miracles and blessings so let's just get right into it.
Monday was awesome. After P-Day we had a family home evening with the Fonseca family. If you remember last week's email I talked about Thiago. We had the goal to put him on date. We asked him what date and he said this Saturday. We were shocked! The whole family was so excited and it was an amazing experience!
Tuesday was a good day. It was super hot. We got to have lunch at a member's house and she had goats so that was fun playing with them. After that we had some good lessons. We got to plan Thiago's baptism with our branch president a bit as well. Late that afternoon we passed by our friend Mirian who has a date to be baptized on the 24th of February. We taught her neighbor and her son and set the goal for them both to be baptized the same day!
Wednesday was a bit tougher because not to many people want to listen to us but we were able to get the baptismal interview done for Thiago so that went smoothly. Then we went and visited a less active young woman and it was super awesome to teach her. She's the only member in her family so hopefully we can have some success there.
Thursday was a fun and chill day because we had our Multi-Zone Conference. We all traveled to Asunción by bus as a district. That takes about an hour. It's always an adventure in the buses here. We luckily got the mission office early. I loved this zone conference so much because everything we talked about was about goals and plans. It was so awesome. One main thing that stood out to me was something President Faúndez said. He said that if our goals aren't specific and well thought out, they are simply just our desires. That helped me out a lot when thinking about the goals I have in the mission and in life. Then we went home in a bus and that was crazy and it took what seemed three hours to get home. Like I said always an adventure.
Friday was a super fun day because I got to go to exchanges with my ex companion Elder Richards. I haven't mentioned yet but as of Tuesday one of my zone leaders, Elder Gibbons, has been super sick with Dengue. We live in the same apartment building so we've been helping them out with what they need. He was so sick that he wasn't even able to go to zone conference. Since Elder Richards had been stuck in his apartment for over three days straight we decided to do exchanges and work in his area. It was super fun! We caught up because we haven't been able to really talk for over a year. We even had a super successful day and we put two of his friends on date! We then spent the rest of the night going to our branch night and filling up the baptismal font.
Saturday morning we woke up and had Thiago's baptism at 9am, but of course like any Paraguayan activity we started about thirty minutes later. We had a good turn out from our branch and Thiago had some friends from his FSY group come and support him! His parents came to support him as well even though they aren't members. It was such a nice experience and the spirit that was felt was so strong. Thiago was so prepared to be baptized and hopefully he prepares to go on a mission because he will be an amazing missionary. We then went to his house and had a big lunch with everyone and it was so much fun!
Sunday Elder Gibbons was still feeling really sick so we had to split up so that we could have an Elder from each area at church. This time it was my time to stay at home with Elder Gibbons. So I stayed with him during church and throughout the day. I was able to get lots of things clean and read many chapters of The Book of Mormon.
I learned a lot this week. I think my favorite thing is what I already mentioned but it's making sure that our goals are goals and not just desires. God knows what desires we have, but he can't help us complete them until they become goals. Until we put plans and action into those goals. When we do that, that's when God's doubles or triples our efforts and we see miracles. That's when we see progress. So it's important to recognize the desires we have in life and then change them into goals and make your desires into a reality.
That's all for this week everyone! So many miracles and so many blessing from our Heavenly Father I can't even count them all! Thanks so much for reading this email! Love you all! Talk to ya next week!
Ps Happy early birthday to my Dad! You're the best! Also sadder news rest in peace to my childhood dog Ziggy. Thanks for the best 14 years! Can't wait to see that dog in heaven!
¡Adíoooos!
Love, Elder Acor
