Your Greatest Effort
¡Hola a mi familia y a mis grandes amigos!
I hope you've all had an amazing week! Hope you all could feel God's love and could serve others! This week was a really good one for me! God's been blessing Las Lomitas and we are just trying to keep up!
Tuesday definitely started off not as ideal as we would have hoped because my comp was sick. It's all good because there's always tomorrow.
Wednesday was a super awesome day because we could start by having our interviews with President Faúndez in the morning. My interview was so good. He always knows what to say and help the flame underneath me grow a little bit. I also finish my mission when he finishes his so we had a good talk about that. Then I could do exchanges with Elder Rindlisbacher! It was great as always. I got to go to his area. We talked a lot and it was so good. I learned a lot about how I can help out my area!
Thursday was a good day because we were able to teach some recent converts and hopefully keep them exciting and progressing. Then we also planned a real service project on Saturday!
Friday in the morning we were able to find the boyfriend of a recent convert that was pretty good. Then the rest of the day was a little difficult because it started to rain a bit and it was during the siesta. We passed by a lot of people but no one was home or just didn't want to talk with us. We did have a pretty good branch night though!
Saturday we got to do service! Y'all when I tell you we don't do service here in Paraguay it's true. I can count the amount of times I've done service on one hand. So we were able to clean, I guess you could say the yard, of a recent convert. There was a lot of trash and a ton of leaves. So in the morning we just went to town raking it all into piles then putting it into bags. It was a very simple service but it felt so good to do that service. Then the other Elderes had a baptism of their friend Ezequel! It was super awesome!
Sunday was an awesome day because we got to take the sacrament! We also had five of our friends come to church and four of our recent converts come to church. It makes me so happy to see our friends coming to church because they are exactly that our friends! They walk in and we can go talk to them help them feel welcomed and then the members start talking to them and it's awesome! Also Mirian and Rodney came to church again! That means that we are planning for Mirian's, Rodney's, and Adriana's baptism for this Saturday! After church we had an awesome lunch with my favorite family, the Quiñonez Fonseca family. After that we went and stopped by our branch president's house to have his son, Efrian, come visit Mirian, Rodney, and Adriana with us. It was an awesome lesson and they are very excited for Saturday! Then we had a good priesthood devotional that the Elder Quorum held. It was a super full day but so good!
I started this week off not good and I'm finishing the week feeling amazing, and surprise surprise it's because of my attitude. Lately I've been really down on myself or really self critical. It's been difficult too because I feel like I really don't have anyone to talk with about that. So I went to prayer obviously. It was great. I've been really self critical because this transfer I stopped being a District leader and sometimes the culture of the means thinks that means you were a bad DL if you stopped being one. So I've kinda had those thoughts. I also share an area with our Zone Leaders and they are absolute machines so we pretty much never reach their level. So then it feels like we just aren't good missionaries. Which isn't true! I'm putting my best effort out. People say or think what they want but dang it I'm trying my best, and who cares if my best isn't as good as someone else's. I truly tried my best this week and we saw so much success and I feel happy and it's because I just stopped comparing, and I'm going to keep trying to do that. It's not easy but it's so worth it. So yeah I'm happy with my greatest effort.
That's everything for this amazing week! I hope you all can have an awesome week! I love you all and thanks for reading my email!
¡Adiós!
Love, Elder Acor
