Arras Tour
No sorry to disappoint anyone but this is not Taylor Swifts Eras tour but this is sœur Kogers Arras tour:)
Said goodbye to Paris this week! Said goodbye to working in the temple which hurt my heart, i hope i get to be a visitor center sister again<3. Had a fire last lesson with a family that spoke English as their first language so we taught them the plan of salvation with cute drawing breaks included of course:) also I saw the very top of the eiffel tower walking home from the metro on my last night so that was a little miracle that made me happy:)
Okay so this last Thursday was transfer day and I was transfered from living in the heart of paris to living in a cute town in the north of France called Arras.
Transfers was wild, saw some of my favorite missionaries, said goodbye to sœur Acloque, who is going home at the end of this transfer, and then started taking care of my new (very sick) companion, sœur mcconkie (Yes her great grandpa is Bruce).
Getting around paris with all of our luggage was quite the workout and tbh I need to consolidate all my things into a backpack or something.
When we got to the gare(train station) here in Arras a girl from the ward was there to help us with our luggage and apparently we've already met when my family spent a 24 hour layover in paris and went to the temple!! She was a visitor center sœur at that time and remembers meeting us! Crazy story but anyways she lives here now and is in my ward! There was also an older couple that took our bags to our appartement while we walked to get there (luggage free) and got to see the pretty town we're going to be living in! When we caught back up to luggage and it was almost a joke getting them up to our attic 4th floor appartement, with very stereotypical french stairs... luckily Noëmie(the past visitor center missionary) helped me bring up one bag at a time while my sick companion got some rest. I'll try to send a picture of the stairs but I don't think it will do them justice.
Other than pharmacy runs and church, sœur mcconkie has been too sick to leave the appartement but I'm taking good care of her so hopefully she'll recover asap.
Sister janda is a saint and she came up our stairs to give us a care package and then after hearing her cool life story her and I scooted down the stairs on step at a time, I think we need a fireman's pole hehe.
