Elder Hennessey: 1/29/24

Dumelang Everyone!

I hope everyone is having the absolute time of their life. I know I am bad at emails but to be fair not much has happened these past few weeks.

This past week I completed my 5th Baptism so far in the mission! This time was my first time doing the confirmation which was awesome. Our zone has a massive goal of 40 baptisms in the month of February and we have 5 on date and we each need 7 so we are getting there! Lesotho is flourishing at rapid rates. Recently we have put in efforts to have another branch open up in the country which is about to actually happen! We also have gotten the numbers to make the Lesotho District turn into a Stake so hopefully that happens soon as well! We also might have our first ward in the country! Its an amazing time to be a missionary.

While doing my first confirmation I also got to be in the circle to ordain 2 youth to the office of deacon and one to Priest so there has been a lot of first times this past week!

You may remember a while back me and the Khubetsoana Elders attempting to make it to a water fall and while failing to do so we got lost in the mountains and I almost died. Well last week we tried again! This time with the full Masianokeng and Maseru Districts! Just in case we paid M100 to  have a guide take us to the falls (Just to get there, he ditched us after we made it). Thanks to that, we finally made it to the falls! Of course Ive been to a few waterfalls since the first attempt but still we finally made it!

All in all God made a beautiful planet with beautiful mountains, trees, animals, plains and in this case waterfalls. God created this beautiful Earth to be appreciated, so (as a missionary) I invite everyone to take some time to appreciate the beautiful world around you, take in some fresh air, go for a walk, do something outside and just LOOK!

I hope everyone has an amazing week and I shall see you next week for another email! (Maybe)

-Love, Elder Hennessey
