¡Hola y Haupei a todos!
I hope that you all have had an amazing week! I have had a pretty interesting one so let's get right into it!
On Tuesday I was able to do exchanges with another Elder in my district who's name is Elder Décima and he's from Argentina. I've done exchanges with him before so it wasn't anything too crazy. It was fun though because he is still fairly new in the mission and it was nice to see his growth from last transfer to now. I went to Elder Décima's area and I got to get to know a ton of their recent converts. They are all super awesome and we were able to talk about preparing for the temple with so many of them so that's exciting.
The next day I woke up in the apartment of Posta Ybycua (yeah that's the name of the area good luck pronouncing it) and I had a sore throat. It wasn't awful but still not fun. We went and worked and I was fine just with a little cough. The thing is though is the apartment of Posta Ybycua basically has black mold, and everytime I go over there I feel sick after. Later that Wednesday night we were able to go to our recent convert, Andres' house to have homemade asadito. Basically kebabs. It was pretty yummy then from there we headed home.
Next morning at about 3am I woke up with the worst body pains or aches of my life. It was not fun. I just sat in bed for hours just in pain until I had the strength to scarf down a bowl of cereal and take ibuprofen. After that I felt a little bit better but I passed out the rest of the day. My body was just so tired.
The rest of the week was fairly chill. I was just like a little sick for the rest of the week which isn't fun because having a cough or sometimes losing your voice during lesson isn't ideal. Hopefully this week I can kick this sickness out of my system.
I feel like I need to give an update on my son! For those of you that don't know or forgot I am finishing training of Elder Villarreal. He's from La Paz, Bolivia. We've been together for two transfers and I started out his training and I'll be finishing it here in a couple of weeks. He crushing it and also brings the spirit with him in every lesson. He's gonna be a solid missionary here in Paraguay.
Another update I wanted to give is about the language. I feel like I don't talk about Spanish anymore but that's a good thing! Honestly I've gotten to the point in my mission where it isn't a challenge anymore. Before I would be nervous or over think situations where I had to speak Spanish. Now I don't even think about it. Someone needs me to teach Sunday School at church? I'm you're guy. 15 minute talk in church? Also your guy. This is definitely a great gift from God because without him there would be no way that I could speak the language this good. Without him I'd still be asking people if they are pregnant rather than if they are embarresed. (Little Spanish joke for ya)
Also tomorrow I will have lived in this amazing country for our whole year! That is so crazy to me! I have been so incredibly with this opportunity to me a missionary here. It hasn't all been amazing. Heck sometimes it's even sucked, but that's ok because I am growing and learning. I'm trying. That's what matters most is that we are trying. Putting our best efforts into whatever we are doing.
Love you all so much and thanks for reading my email! I hope you all have an awesome week! If you're in school good luck. Like I said sometimes we just gotta try sometimes. Hope everyone crushes it this week!
¡Chau!
Love, Elder Acor

ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear of your serious health challenges during this past while! But pleased to hear how well you are doing with the language. You have come far - and have even offered to teach a class in Spanish if needed! :) God bless!
