Heat Waves of Miracles

¡Mba'éichapa a todos!

This week thankfully went by fast. After my long week last week I got worried but don't worry this week zoomed by. Lots of things happened so many miracles and so much sweat.

Tuesday was a super good day. We got to have our first district as our new district. Some Elders were about thirty minutes late so that was fun. It was pouring rain this day. After district council we went and ate lunch with a member. There is a new thing here that I've eaten and it's so good. It's called (don't judge me it's in Portuguese) Fasção. Literally no idea how to spell that, but it is so good. It's beans and rice. Tastes way better than it sounds. The beans here in Paraguay don't really taste like the beans from the States but Fasção tastes super good.

Wednesday my comp decided to have a huge allergy attack. We ended up going to lunch in the afternoon. Literally every ten seconds my comp sneezed during lunch. It was fairly rough. We walked then for about an hour because we had to at least do a baptismal interview for our friend. After that interview we took a Bolt (Uber here) to our house. My comp bought some allergy medicine and then passed our for four hours.

Thursday was a pretty crazy day. First thing to note is that if you remember from my email last week my comp forgot about who we had lunch with. Yeah it happened again the hermana was mad at us. So I have learned maybe I won't believe everything my comp says. I also got to participate in a wedding! For our baptism our friend had to get married first. We went to the judges office and they did all the things they need to do and me and my comp just sat there are watched. We did get to sign their marriage papers for the memories. After the wedding we had to fill up the font again which takes hours. That was the majority of our day but at six we had Cecilia's baptism. It was such a fun experience and we had so many ward members come and support.

Friday I got to do exchanges with Elder Fernandez from the Dominican Republic. That was such a blast. This Elder has so much energy. Also he's famous because he sings for the church's youth album in Spanish. He sang the song La Gran Obra. Go give it a listen it's pretty good. I pretty much just sang all his songs while we were together it was fun. Also up until this point I haven't mentioned anything but y'all. It. Is. So. Hot. We just entered Spring here and for almost a whole week it has been 100-105 degrees. I didn't miss the heat and I can't believe it's already back. I haven't sweat this much in a long time. To much information, but we finish the days and I just have to pretty much ring myself out.

Saturday we had a meeting with all the leaders in our zone. That was fun to see the goals as a zone and see other missionaries. This day was a little crazy too because we had to help some hermanas out my sending some baptismal clothes to them with an Uber motorcycle.

Sunday was one of my favorite days on the mission. We did start the day a little rough because we went out to people's houses to walk with them to church but they weren't there or didn't want to come with us. We went to church and our friend Cecilia got confirmed a member of the church! We had some awesome talks from our bishopric. After we had an amazing lesson in Elder's Quorum. We had some friends who were there and the teacher did an amazing job including them and asking them questions and making them feel involved. Then after that we had some good lunch and went out and worked in the heat. We didn't have much success until the end of our day. We talked with two people who are very excited to read The Book of Mormon and learn more about the church.

Thank you to all the new missionaries with your weekly emails that remind me I should probably put a spiritual thought at the end of my emails. I think the main thing I can share is how strong simple testimonies are. I remember when I first started the mission I really wanted to explain things super deeply and in such a logical way but I didn't have the words because I couldn't speak that well. Now I can speak well and I am realizing the importance of simple testimonies. While I may have the words to explain something super deeply or explain something for a really long time what I have learned is that short and strong testimonies are and will always because the best way to help people understand. Simply saying The Book of Mormon is true and that is has changed my life for the better helps people know how important it is. A phrase as simple as I know that I will live with my family forever is a concept that some people have never even heard of.

Well thanks everyone for listening to this long email. Sorry there were a lot of things to share this week. Hope you all have an amazing week and make sure that you are always looking for an opportunity to share the gospel.

¡Adiós!

Love, Elder Acor
