Sophie (my younger sister) said that I should be funnier in my emails so I'm going to tell you all a funny story.
It turns out "buenas nargas" is not a thing, I actually spelt it wrong and it's "buenas nalgas" (sorry for everyone out there that speaks español, thanks elder airmet for saving me from more embarrasment). I hope that this gives you a laugh sophie 🫶
After zone conference focusing on diligence, Sister Acabal and I have been focusing on being diligent, or making a consistent earnest effort to do the Lord's work! I LOVE the word earnest. It means we are doing His work sincerely, intentional, and with care. As we have been diligent even in the little things (like recording my check your speeds everyday, thanks tewee, all you other missionaries will hopefully get it🤞) my joy serving others and serving God has grown as well as my desire to be more diligent.
Some highlights
☆ My compi being asked if she was Hawaiian from a Guatemalan member (she is Guatemalan)
☆ Teaching our new friend Rafael. He is here working while the rest of his family is in Guatemala and has a desire to come closer to God. He can't read, so we decided to go with a video and the spirit was so strong!
☆ Temple tour with our friend Yesenia! She felt the spirit very strongly and accepted a baptismal date, stay tuned for her 🩷
☆ Exchanges! I was with Sister Welch and we focused that day on finding. We were lead to the right people @ the right time and learned a lot together. She is just the best!
☆ Meeting our new friend Juan! We received a social media referral and we went to look at the notes and it turns out he was sent from my friend from college Maddie! He met with missionaries in the past and has a desire to change. He is such a miracle 🌟
This week I want to share a scripture from come follow me in 1 Corinthians 10:13
"but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
No matter what struggles, trails, or temptations we face, God has made way to an escape. Through the mercy, merits and grace of His son Jesus Christ, we can be blessed with the strength to overcome and rise above this world.
I invite you all to take some time and do come follow me this week on your own. You will receive answers, guidance and comfort
🩷 Hermana Gardner
