DO YOU PLAY TENNIS?
6/26/23

Literally the only question I hear everytime I go to play pickleball with some elderly people in redding. They are all so sweet but really want me to stop swinging so much. They tell me I would be so much better if my arm didn't go back so far and I say we'll I've already been wired to do this so yuh.

THIS WEEK WAS CRAY CRAY FOR REAL and now we are close to the end of the transfer and president basha the new mission president is HERE. I meet him next Tuesday on the 4th :)

Monday:

Had dinner with a cute family. Their little girl dished up a bunch of strawberries on her plate at the end of dinner and then left the table. When her mom asked what she was doing she said "leaving a snack for when they *gestures to us* talk about JeSuS"

We did talk about Jesus and it was epic.

Tuesday:

Exchange with hermana price in the Spanish area. I have been serving with her since December because we moved from Citrus to red bluff together and it was fun to remember all the times we have had. There was a good chunk of the day in English and in ASL. I was FINALLY able to whip out some legit broken sign language to this man in a family They are teaching. They all speak Spanish but he reads English and communicates through sign so I was able to teach him simple things about the gospel and the GIFT OF TONGUES IS REAL (and not something i expected to experience on my english mission) fr fr because I was signing and going and not understanding this guy at all but the spirit was so so strong and I was confident I God's love for him and desire for him to learn the gospel. Everyone pray for Joseph.

Wednesday: epic district council on daily planning and being honest about the things you did that day. Also we drove down to Chico to start an exchange

Thursday: WITH SISTER RAMESH yes I was back with my momma on the mish for a day and a half and we had an absolute blast. I was also able to see my daughter sister allred and talk about my grand baby that she is training. So many crazy things. We found a Punjabi lady that totally wants to learn more about jesus christ (never happens) and we learned about the NEW PREACH MY GOSPEL ahhhhhhhh and new area book that is pink hehe. That night we had a good talk and a good cry because ramya is going home next week and it was our last time seeing each other until March. Love you amma

Friday: temple temple temple love that place. I did an endowment for my 8 great grandmother Christian who was born in 1730 and it was very sprititual. I almost never am able to do work for a direct ancestor so it was very sweet. Also had a lesson with a somewhat recent convert and after the closing prayer she said "the spirit told me I need to give you all my tobacco" We came home with easily $100 worth of cigarettes hehe

Saturday: finding and teaching. Got a new friend Desmond who is the husband of another somewhat recent convert who gave us all her black tea. I never thought people would be handing me this stuff but I feel so much happiness for these people trusting me to help them get rid of bad habits.

Sunday: I met Monica and Jim who's kids were recently in a really bad car accident. They all survived but with somewhat major injuries and as they told us their story I just knew that God had placed us in their life and the right time. They were found on exchanges and have actually met with missionaries before. Love them so much

YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH

holy cow!!! this has been a WHIRLWIND of a week! I cannot even begin to explain how much God is in the details of our lives and how easily He can do His work especially if we actively try to follow His will.

First off we decided to take our p day today because that's what the elders wanted to do and then last minute they all decided to go back to monday so we were like okay we will just stick with wednesday. BEST IDEA EVER I love doing this especially because we got transfer news this morning!!!!

last week was crazy with finding a new friend through an inactive member and then meeting with more inactive members and returning members. Something I did not expect to be doing on a mission is the amount of nuturing and ministering we do for those who have already been baptized. The members here tend to live far from the church building so sometimes its hard. I have seen so much change in those who already know what they should be doing and how they should be living but they are just lacking the faith and spirit to do so... then two sister missionaries hyped up on jeffery r holland talks show up at their door and now they're commiting to come to church for the first time in years. God is so good and is so aware of His children and there is so much work to do here but not just for us. Everyone is a part of the gathering of Isreal and I cannot stress to you enough the IMPORTANCE OF MINISTERING LIKE THE SAVIOR if you don't know what you're doing read enos and alma 21 and then read the sermon on the mount and then if you reallyyyy don't know what you're doing watch the chosen and then PRAY ask God to use you as His instrument and LISTEN. and this is the really really super super important part that you should always do no matter what (even, and especially when you think it's weird or awkward) DO WHAT THE SPIRIT IS TELLING YOU TO DO. DO IT. AS FAST AS YOU CAN. usually satan will let you get to that last step and then he really attacks saying oh that person won't like me or oh that is so weird or ah this is not a good time of day. DO YOU NOT THINK THE SPIRIT ALREADY KNOWS ALL OF THAT? SO DO IT ANYWAY

here is a little story to motivate you

last night, the fourth of July, we had just had distict council for too long and read some very fire scriptures about obedience. afterwards we had a couple hours left before we had to be at home for 7 o clock curfew due to the holiday. we decided to go up into the mountains and visit some people who usually get neglected. after knocking a few doors it was evident that people were either busy celebrating or had zero desire to talk to us and I was unsure if we would rather have more success by going home and doing facebook work. it was super hot and I was mega tired but the spirit of obedience was inside me and my companion and we decided to just keep going. there was an out of the way inactive member that we went to go visit and as we pulled up there was a man across the street fixing some ties on a truck trailer. I had the impression to talk to him before knocking the door that we came for. We told him we were missionaries and he was like OH! Im actually LDS......... SO SUPER EMBARRASSING WE JUST INVITED HIM TO LEARN ABOUT GOD AND ASKED IF HE WAS RELIGIOUS
but wonderfully he invited us to stay for a bit and gave us some money and told us about all the people in the neighborhood we could visit including his own family. His wife is cathollic and his son is unbaptized. How grateful I am that we just kept going in faith that no matter what we were doing the work God had for us

Love and miss you all!!!! Please do your ministering!!!

p.s. I'm getting transferred to Yuba City!!! I will be super close to the new temple and will be serving there during the open house!! I will be whitewash training as well as staying an STL so there are many much exciting things going on.
