| Goodbye's! |
Today I'm going to start by sharing the miracle who is our friend Lety. Last week we decided to stop by an inactive member who had NOTHING in our records. As we were trying to find their house, we saw a women talking to an older man and walked up to them and starting asking how they were. Lety responded and said they weren't doing very good. She told us how her brother had passed away a year ago and she still hadn't found any peace in his passing. We were able to share with her our testimonies of how families are forever because of Jesus Christ and His gospel. We left her with a Book of Mormon planning to come back.
When we came back she told us that she was here for vacation visiting her sister and leaving for Mexico in 15 days! We learned her son was the inactive member we were looking for! He had come to live in the US with her sister and she told him to find a church to worship at. The missionaries started talking to him and he was baptized. She said that since he has taken some wrong turns, but is in a place where she feels he could be ready to come back. Since she has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying intently to know the church is true. She told us after her brother passed, she was transformed and desires to be baptized, she is just not sure in what church. Yesterday, we had a lesson with her and she accepted a baptismal date!! Meeting and teaching her was so miraculous. I know that angels were orchestrating what happened and I'm so excited to see how she continues to grow in the gospel.
The other miracle I will share is oscar! He is a friend who responded to a Facebook ad I put in a group for free bibles. We talked a little bit and I asked him if he would be interested in studying the Bible with missionaries in his area. He said yes and I sent his info to the elders in Gresham! He quickly accepted a baptismal date and has been loving learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is so amazing to me that through small and simple things like a text message, great things can come to pass.
Like it says in the title, this week we said goodbye to President and Sister Haymond!! Everyone was a mess, but we got to hear from them a lot this week.
We were able to have one last mission leadership council where they gave us their life advice and a devotional where we all got to say goodbye to them. It was hard to see them go because they are AMAZING leaders, but I am also excited for our new mission leaders, the Botchways to get here!
My biggest take away from these past two weeks would probably be in Jacob 4:8-10
"behold, great and marvelous are the works of the lord... ...seek not to counsel the lord, but take counsel from his hand"
Trust in the Lord! He sees the whole story, the big picture. He loves you perfectly and he will transform you as you rely on Him.
Also, read the new preach my gospel. It is revelation, this is a living church run by our living savior Jesus Christ!
I love you all, have a great week 💕💕
