Elder Acor: 7/24/23

¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos!

This week was a crazy one here in Paraguay. First thing is first. I hit one year here on the mission! I can not believe how much time has passed and how much I have grown! It has been the best and hardest experience of my life and I can not wait to see what one more year has in store for me. Also this week Paraguay decided to switch back to being hot so this whole week was like 80 to 90 degrees. We are in the dead of Winter here.

This week I had the opportunity to do exchanges with one of my zone leaders, Elder Garff. We have the same time here on the mission and we were in the same district in the CCM. We did exchanges on the day of our birthday for the mission so that was fun. I honestly learned so much from him and what I can improve as a missionary and as a leader here on the mission.

The next couple days I got sick. Which is the worst here on the mission but we move on and keep going. I had another opportunity to do exchanges with Elder Decima. He is from Argentina and he is fairly new here on the mission. It was fun to see him lead his area and also see how the mission is going.

The rest of the week we worked a lot with our part families that we have in this area. We also worked with the hermanas that we share an area with because there are a ton of families and members in this area. It was a solid week. It was honestly a tough week but I can see that I grew from it and learned a thing or two. I am ready to go into this next week and try my best and see what miracles we can see.

I just wanna say again what a blessing the mission has been for me. Even though it has not been all sunshine and rainbows like maybe I thought it was before I got here I am happy for all the struggles and blessings I have received here. I have learned patience living with a comp 24/7 and having different personalities and different cultures and everything. I have loved all the struggles. They have made me who I am today and the missionary I am now. God loves us. It is our job to follow him and when we do he will bless us.

Thank you all so much for reading this email and I hope you all have a fantastic week!

¡Chau!

Love, Elder Acor

  1. Sis. Ericksen here: Really enjoy how open you are about the challenging times - and how much the good times seem to outweigh that. I think that's why missionaries grow so much during their time in the field - it is life CONDENSED! God bless!
