FIRE IN THE HOLE

Hello hello it has been yet another eventful week here in Red Bluff CA. Fun fact I am also over the antelope ward which is wack because my last area was antelope but thats a whole two hours away.

anywayyyyyys this week was super fun with some crazy adventures

* we visited this inactive lady and she definitely did not want to come to church or do anything but we talked to her for a hot second and we are going to go back and do some scrapbooking! she was very sweet and kind. we ended up knocking around her neighbors and she lives up a "canyon" or as close to one as you can get up in northern cali. they were some bougie houses on the side of the sacramento river so it was absolutely beautiful up there. the very nice houses warranted some not very gospel accepting people but we talked to this catholic dude who turns out is the father in law of our ward mission leaders daugter! i know that's a mouthful but our wml knows him! it was cray cray. and then the next lady we met knew another member of ours! they both had good things to say about them and it strengthened my testimony that ministering and missionary work are ALWAYS going ALL THE TIME. people notice how members live and work and operate and it makes a difference in their lives which might lead to their salvation. ALL THE MORE IMPORTANT TO SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH YOUR FRIENDS. anyways it was super fun to be up there especially in the warm weather we are getting.

*One of the people we are teaching we apparently have been saying her name wrong and she's been taught since january ahhhh. its genevie instead of genevive which doesnt make any sense to me but she is just the sweetest  she has schizophrenia and is always talking about the evil spirits keeping her from doing the right things but they will definitely stay away long enough for her to be baptized on may 29th! we put her on date this week but will have to move it. we didn't realize that was a monday and memorial day so things will be moving around.

*the rodeo was in town this week and the traffic was almost as bad as how badly I wanted to go. this town has me wantin to buy myself some cowgirl boots and go out on the town.

*on thursday I was able to go to roseville for an exchange with sister shepherd and we taught early morning seminary!!! It was my first time ever going to early morning and let me tell you release time was defiinitely the way to go. the kids were super quiet and not very participatory but we had fun nonetheless. we taught about the parable of the good samaritan and we compared it to the plan of salvation which was new to me but very interesting. its like our journey through life and the savior plays the role of the good samaritan healing us and bringing us home, not only healing our wounds (resurrection) but paying for our stay in the inn (forgivness of sins) giving us both physical and spiritual redemption. the rest of our day we talked to some more amazing people and i even found someone for the sierra ysa! I miss them lots but hopefully dax makes his way down there to my homies in citrus heights.

SORRY i know this is like the longest email I have written but im borrowing my comps keyboard and it makes life so much easier. anyways there was a huge miracle this week so

READ THIS BEFORE YOU SCROLL DOWN TO THE PICTURES

On saturday I started feeling pretty sick but we had some epic services planned and I didn't want to let anyone down. I pushed through it and we were able to help the anderson family with their cow! I scooped poop and gave sunday (the cow) her food and we held kitties and ate yummy breakfast with the best behaved family of 8 that i have ever seen. a couple hours later we helped their cousins gather some fallen tree branches and put them into a massive burn pile. for three hours we dragged tree after fallen tree to this massive bonfire and it was HOT HOT HOT I was coughing up a storm and was mega dehydrated and started feeling so gross. When we got home i absolutley crashed for like three hours and suddenly woke up from a fever dream and remembered someone we were planning on going to meet that night to invite him to church. It was definitely the spirit prompting me and no matter how bad my head hurt or I tried to think of different ways for us to reach this guy over and over I heard the spirit say GO. even though I was absolutley trashed from the day we drove the fifteen minutes to his house and had a good long conversation and he agreed to come to church! The spirit held me up that whole interaction and I crashed when we got home. He was there at church the next sunday and our ward mission leader drove him and they were instant best friends! we aren't super sure how interested he is in joinging our church but I could not be more grateful for the spirit guiding and directing me in this work. one thought I wrote down this week was I could never do this work for myself but I can for Him. and the truth is is that none of us could survive this life without Him and so many are lost without Him. there is no purpose and no direction without Jesus Christ and the reason we are blessed with the gospel is to take it to as many people as we can before they lose hope and move on to the next life sooner than they would.

You never know what a prompting will lead to and you never know who the spirit is trying to save, most often save their life. One quote from elder eyring that I love is something his branch president said "assume that most everyone you meet is in a great deal of trouble, and more often than not you will be right" that is so true here and everywhere. and the spirit will lead and guide you to those that need YOUR help. listen and be obedient, pray to receive those promptings, and the Lord will reveal His arm to you and His great work of salvation.

I love and miss you all!!!!!!!!
