Sister Benson: 4/17/23
Week 74: The Finale
Scout Benson
Hello hello! another week has passed. Time is flying and honestly... i hate it. The lack of control I have right now is really frustrating, BUT im just trying to do the most with every second I have left. I feel like im in such a strange limbo right now and its SO weird. But also I literally dont think ive had this much fun my whole mission, or wanted to work harder. Crazy what the end will do to you. Well lets jump in to the highlights from this week. *que highlight reel*
So we had zone conference this week on Thursday. Well I wanted to do the musical number one last time, so LAST thursday I was told I could do that. Which meant I had a week. I found a couple songs and signed up my friend Elder Thomas to play the piano :)) Well the piano did not work out. So we thought well maybe the guitar? Well the guitar was not working. And we kept thinking... if only we had a cello. Because Elder Thomas is actually insane at the cello. Come Tuesday we were like alright we're finding a cello or this isnt going to work. So we all asked around and we were able to find one but there was a catch. We had to restring the whole thing. So that took forever. Then we had to rewrite the whole piano sheet music to be a beautiful cello accompaniment. Which also took forever. Then we had to practice so that neither of us would pee our pants on the stand cause we didnt know it. So. Between all that we spent a lot of time trying to figure out this musical number this week haha. BUT. By the grace of God we pulled it off. The night before we went through it and finally both of us felt good about it. And it went SO perfectly. Go Elder Thomas!! If you want a recording of it I have it :))
also at zone conference I was blessed to be able to give my departing testimony. Im actually so grateful I got to because it really made me stop and think. i only had a few short moments to share what I have learned in the past 18 months and..... let me do the math for you, that doesnt work. So I really had to decide what was the most important. I ended up testifying about missions being hard, too hard sometimes, but that every moment I got through made me better. because of Christ. and how cool was it to stand up on that stand and look down at all these missionaries, from brand new to coming home with me, and testify that it was worth it. And that My Savior lives. Ill tell you, it was very cool. Sister J also recorded that because shes too good for this world, so I was able to listen to it. And as I did the Spirit confirmed to me again that that IS my testimony. That Christ lives.
Besides saying goodbye and crying my eyes out, we also got to go to the temple grounds again in tallahassee. Best part about serving on this side of the misson!!
We also did a finding competition this week with the trio, and sister J and I found 3 new people this week!! Mary, Danny and Nicole. We are so excited!! He work here in lynn haven is amazing.
we havent been able to see tanzi this week or selvin, so its been so sad. Sherry had surgery in her mouth this week so shes been MIA. Jason and us have be3en praying each night. Please pray for all of htem.
