Week 70: Hey Jesus, its Selvin. Your little boy.

Scout Benson

Hey yall! Party party out here in the haven. Sister J got sick this week so we were out for the count for a second there, but the rest of the week was pretty good. So not a lot happened but for the things that did happen.... so fire!!

We went to teach Maliah and Tanzi this week and guess what! Tanzi has decided that she wants to get baptized with Maliah! So we moved their date so that they could be baptized together :)) We are so stoked about it theyre the best!! So we are looking at April 8th right now. Woo hoo!

We had a lesson with Selvin and he told us that hed found a bunch of stuff about joseph smith that was crazy. But then he said that he didnt care because he knew this church was true and he felt the Spirit here. So that was fire! But we are moving his date a little bit too so that he doesnt feel so rushed. He also gave us each a Hondorus key chain, and said the closing prayer. He always says it in spanish, but this was the first time he said it in english. And he started it "hey Jesus, its Selvin, your little boy." and it was THEE cutest most wholesome thing ive ever heard in my whole life. I love Selvin.

I think that a couple months back I wrote about an expirience we had in our apartment office with a... comcast (?) lady. It started out as kind of her bashing us and we were like trying to kindly explain things. But then one of the ladies who works in the office stepped in and told her she served a mission in Las Vegas and started testifying! We didnt even know she was a member but it was dope. Anyways we figured she was an active member of another ward cause she was just so passionate and testifying like crazy. we would see her around and say hi but not very often. Well bring it back to present day, she showed up at church on sunday. And we were shook! Shes in our ward! Shes inactive! What in the world!! So we went and said hi and said it was good to see her and stuff. She ended up telling us that shed been inactive for a while, but that conversation we had had sparked something in her, and that she wanted to start living her life right and coming back to church. So she got her records moved over! Well when we got home we looked her up on our areabook (her name is lauren by the way) and it turns out that she had asked to be on a do not contact list, which is pretty much having your records removed without really having them removed. So dang!! God really puts us in situations so that he can soften our hearts and help us!! It was such a testament to us.

This week was a good one despite all the sick craziness. Weeks are flying. its crazy. But I love it here.

  1. Sis. Ericksen here: Wow, you had some highs and lows this week, almost back to back. Hope that you can somehow interact with Lauren again! ☼
