Sister Benson: 3/13/23
Week 69: Best Life Ever
Scout Benson
Heyyyyyyy!!! This week was like... actually insane. But so good. Let me tell ya about it :)
On Wednesday Sherry had her interviews for baptism and they were beautiful. She had to get interviewed by a member of our mission presidency for various reasons, and it was so amazing to see how the Spirit lead president wainwright, and how it touched Sherry. it was a really cool expirience that i was so grateful to be a part of.
Wednesday afternoon we left for tallahassee. Drove our 2 hours and stayed with the other set of sisters in our zone in an abandon elders apartment in tally. Needless to say it was not left in prime condition when said elders were switched out. BUT. it was okay. it became home for the next couple days. we crashed hard that night.
Come thursday morning we are all running around getting ready and then running out the door to zone conference! Zone conference was a good time, I got to see sister palmer cute girl. we also had to say goodbye to the fosters- our mission medical parents. I cried. They cried. I love them. luckily i only have to survive a little bit longer without them. she kept me alive for my whole mission now i just have to keep it together. there were a lot of cool things said in zone conference obviously but there was one that just kind of blew me away. President Wainwright talked about how the Book of Mormon prophets probably wrote-- engraved-- one character ever 5 minutes. And we can read how much in 5 minutes? It varies, but more than one letter. And they thought that each letter was important enough to spend that much time on. We REALLY had to know that the jaredites boats were tight like unto dishes. No but really how cool is it knowing that the SAW our day. Our time. And they took the time to put in what they thought was important. Kinda gives you a new outlook on studying.
After zone conference i got to go on a tradeoff with sister toone, shes from arizona and just came out 3 weeks ago. shes so cute. serving in the tallahassee zone. so fun! and the that night a bunch of sisters came to "our" apartment and we all had fun grilled cheeses for dinner, then just hung out. It was so fun! We stayed again in tally thursday night.
Friday morning the Holmes creek sisters and us drove two snd a half hours to Jacksonville. We got there and said hi to allllll our friends. Cause it was mission conference! I got ZERO pictures with anyone which I'm totally kicking myself about but no one else probably cares lol. But it was fun to see people. We took a massive group pic, then got to shake elder renlunds hand!! Then we had a big conference with them. They did a Q&A and gave some awesome messages. One thing that was stressed a lot was being grateful. Because gratitude reduces stress and makes you happier. So sister j and I have started gratitude journals. They wanted is to hurry out after the conference and not say hi to our buddies which was not going to go well. But president elbert must have prayed we'd get out of their cause it started POURING rain. Along with it came tornados and stuff on our 5 hour drive home but that's okay.
Saturday Sherry got baptized!! It was beautiful and perfect and we love her so much. I'm so beyond grateful that ive gotten to get to know her and I know I've made a life long friend. Along with the morses :) WE'RE SO PROUD OF SHERRY!!
And Sunday she got confirmed!! WHAT AN AMAZING WEEK!!!!

So many things to celebrate at zone conference - AND mission conference. You are accumulating so many tender memories. God bless! (Sis. Ericksen)
