Sister Benson: 1/16/23
Week 61: l a d i c i o u s
Scout Benson
Welcome to my new world. Where I am surrounded by sister johnson saying "mmm that taste ladicious!" "no t o t a l l y" "you KILL me" "bro noooOOOOOO" and assorted shrieking sounds/giggles. Honestly couldnt be happier its so much fun, we are having the time of our lives.
this week was like literally all over the place. we had some days that everyone was answering their doors and texting us back and everything. Like one lady literally texted the wrong number but we were nice to her so she gave us her name and we're friends now. And another day we went to visit our friend dave in his recovery center (which he gets out of soon!) and in the waiting room we met 2 separate people and gave them each our number, and then ended up talking to a nurse and giving her our number PLUS a couple of our cards for her to give out!! So fun. But then there were days that we got yelled at and stuff this week. There was a lot of that. AND. one day. in the same hour. we met a dog named Scout, and a cat.... named Scout. I was finished. I didnt even say anything i was just like oh how cute. *dies on the inside*
On a spiritual note, Sister Johnson was asked to speak on sunday. (i have somehow stayed under the radar on this one) Her topic was justice and mercy. Well justice is pretty cut and dry. It makes sense. God has laws. If you keep them youre rewarded, if you break them youre penalized. Makes sense. But mercy.... it was a little harder for us to wrap our heads around. So! we spent the whole week studying grace and mercy. And it was so fun! We listened to talks and read scriptures and called Elder Foster- everyones favorite senior missionary. It was really cool because we got to study so much about Gods love for us. About how he WANTS to withhold punishment with his mercy. How he WANTS to help us be more than we can be. And the only thing holding him back from doing that? Its us!! So Sister Johnson and I are working on letting God help us. Its hard! It requires a lot of faith. But its what we need, and what we should all want. God loves you! Let him!
Missions are wild yall. Even after a week that is so crazy and so hard, we get up. We try again. And thats what life is about. Getting up with God. <3
This week Sister Johnson and I would love any sort of pick-me-up yall like. Whether it be a scripture, a quote, an action, a treat, whatever. Give us some ideas! Cause this week really was hard and its difficult sometimes to want to go into another. So we would love your suggestions!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
