Seeing Miracles
Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org>
¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos!
This week was filled with miracles. I love these weeks where I can have fun and that I can see the hand of God in my work. So many great experiences that I am so grateful for.
The week actually started off pretty slow. We had to do some work for Facebook which is always a little bit slower. I was able to make a video and it was actually pretty good. I'm impressed with myself. Then the next day we worked in the morning then we got to help with an activity in the branch. Then the next day was Thursday we had lunch with a member family and they have young men and one of them really likes basketball so I just talked to him about basketball the whole time and it was super fun to talk about that in a different language. Then we had our weekly planning. We had realized that we hadn't really been seeing much progress with our friends and we hadn't been finding new people to teach much. We made new goals to try harder, rely more on the spirit, have more faith, talk with all the people. That night we put one of our friends on date and this date is super set!
After this we just kept seeing more and more miracles. Friday we worked so hard. We worked in a large Neighborhood in our area and connected everyone and found new people interested. We visited some friends with a member and it was very good. Sad because two of our friends who were progressing said that they wanted to wait to be baptized. This night we decided to eat at a place we always eat but this time we wanted to sit down and eat and enjoy our time. We finished eating and just as we were about to leave a man came up to us and wanted to talk to us. He started talking and we thought he was a member because he knew so much about the church. Turns out this guy was investigating the church before the pandemic and was super interested but he is not married so that is why he is not baptized. He said he planned lunches with the Elders and everything so we want to work with him and get him to come back to church.
Saturdays are always the days that are the craziest. We have to walk a little bit far for our lunch so it is always fun. Especially because it is about 100 degrees every single day and it is always super humid also. We just accept sweating and go about our days. My white shirts and just a little less white down. The miracle that happened was we received a reference from Hermana Harris and Feliz. They are the hermanas in the central part of Caaguazú. It was very far away but luckily close to our lunch. We went and visited with them and they were super interested. We invited them to church. Sadly they did not come but we are excited to see with more lessons how they will progress. We also had a great experience with this family of young adults. It was not too much of teaching but more of having a conversation and understanding their life. It was super good and I communicated well and I could understand everything.
Biggest blessing of all. The friends that I talked about said they wanted to be baptized for a long time. They now want to be baptized this Sunday! William and Mitchel are their names. William is 13 and Mitchel is 12. They are so ready to be baptized and super excited! We have been working with them for a long time and I taught them with Elder Richards. I am very exicted a huge miracle because they realized the importance of baptism and that they should do it as soon as possible.
Love you all and I hope that you have an amazing week!
¡Adios!
Love Elder Acor
