¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos!
Hope everyone had a good week like always! I know that I had a very solid week. Lots of fun experiences and also lots of miracles like always. I hit six months in the mission on Wednesday which was awesome. Time is going by so fast.
This week we started off my planning for a baptism! It wasn't a baptism of one of our friends but of an eight year old in the branch. Still huge miracles because she can start her path on the covenant path as soon as possible. It is super good because she was about to turn nine this week. The thing that took a long time was filling up the font. It took us five hours to clean and just make sure everything was good. It was horrible. That wasn't just to fill it when it was filling up we left and worked. Then we had her baptism on Wednesday and it was super good and practically the whole branch showed up!
Thursday we had a zone conference here in Caaguazú with just our zone. It was super good! I got to have my interview with President Faúndez. Then we had our conference and I learned a ton and I am super excited like always working harder and harder. We also learned about new key indicators in the mission and those are lessons with members and also recent converts in sacrament. Lots of things to focus on in the work!
Then I did divisions with the Elders from Caaguazú 3 and I am from Caaguazú 4. Our areas are very similar, just different people. I was able to go to Caaguazú 3 and do divisions with Elder Anderson from Pleasant Grove Utah. He has a year and a half in the mission so it was fun to hear about his experiences and what he's learned. It was so fun because he had incredible patience and I want to try and develop this patience also in my mission.
Saturday we finished divisions and then we had Facebook so it was a very chill. We finished the day off by having a family night with the old branch President and we had asado and it was super good.
I know I did not talk about our friends this much in this email. There isn't too much crazy happening with them. We are struggling with having people keep their commitments like reading the scriptures, praying about the truth, and especially attending church. This week we didn't have any of our friends attend so that was a little discouraging. We are going to work hard. There is a lot of work to be done and I need patience, love, and determination to have success here.
For the title of this email, just a funny experience yesterday. We were walking to our dinner appointment and like always a drunk man called put to us or in Spanish, Boracho. After talking to him a bit we gave him a pamphlet. Then there were three more men walking towards us with some of the most drunk walking I have seen in my life. Also before the mission I really couldn't tell you what alcohol smells like but I can now. The smell of beer on their breath was very strong. Made me want to help them but it is hard when they are that drunk. It helped me remember the importance of our commandments with God and why we have them. When we remember why we have commandments and why we have made covenants with God we can receive floods of blessings.
We also found a dog that followed us around for an entire day and we called her Lucy!
Love you all! Thank you for reading this email. Thank you for all the support and prayers in the mission! Have a good week!
Love Elder Acor
