¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos!
I hope everyone has had a fun week! I know I sure have! This week has been really good, lots of success and just working as hard as we can and trying to improve each day.
On Wednesday we had a pretty fun experience. So a little bit of back story. We have a friend of ours who has come to church three times now and we have never actually taught him he just keeps coming to church. There are two problems. He can only speak Guaraní and he lives in the middle of nowhere. So our job Wednesday was to at least find him. We thought this would be super easy because what we were told is that he lives in the neighborhood of San Jaun. There are signs pointing to where this place is and where to go so easy right? Nope. We walked all day Wednesday. Six hours we walked and asked people if they knew our friend and people had no idea who this was. Also we learned that the neighborhood of San Juan is huge. It is miles and miles of nothing. So we are figuring out what we can do. Wish us luck! One bright side of the day was that we were able to go to our branch night which was really fun because it was a night of talents so that was really fun to watch.
This week I also had the opportunity to do divisions with my zone leader Elder Hendershot! This was a super fun experience. He came to my area because we had some people that needed to be interviewed to be baptized. Elder Hendershot has about a year and a half in the mission so it was fun to hear his stories and the advice for me because he has been in the mission longer.
Saturday was my comp's birthday! That was fun to celebrate. This is the second time in the mission where my comp had their birthday with me. It is just a very different experience because we wake up, study and still go to work and everything is normal. We were able to eat some good lunch with a member. After that he told us about an inactive member that hasn't been visited in awhile and he asked if we wanted to visit them. We said yes and we were able to go on a little drive into the middle of nowhere and talk with this member. It was super fun. After that we had to work on Facebook so we talked and chilled and then ordered some hamburgers. It was a blast.
Then Sunday like always is just a little stressful on the mission. What has changed is that every Sunday we are waiting for our friends to attend. So right up to when the meeting starts I am just hoping and praying that our friends come. This week we were blessed enough to have two of our friends come to church so we will work with them a lot and see where they can progress.
This week we had opportunities to work with members a lot. Visits with our friends or visits with other members are all super important. We have been blessed with many members in our branch who are willing to help us visit. In these visits our friends or other members are always much more open and willing to talk. It is amazing yes we are missionaries but that is what we are here to do, be missionaries. For the members it is their life or their branch or ward that they are working in. My challenge for all of you is to work with missionaries in your neighborhoods, or be the missionary. Find people that need the restored gospel and bring them to the missionaries. Someone that has a friend in the church can feel at home. Be that person and I can promise you that you will receive many blessings and it will only get easier as you do it more and more.
Thank you all for reading my email! I hope that you all have a great week and can find time to remember Christ! Love you all!
Love Elder Acor
