Sister Benson: 11/28/22
Week 54: Home sick but loving it
Scout Benson
This week was a WHOLE rollercoaster of emotion. One that does backflips and skydives and loops.
Leaving Gainesville was the worst ever. I will miss my six month home full of love and adventures. Im so grateful for all that i was able to learn there, all the people i was able to meet, all the love i was able to feel. Gainesville will always have a special place in my heart :) I hated saying goodbye to people, especially the young women. Saying goodbye to each of them was really hard because ive grown to love and care for them so much. Those girls amaze me. Saying goodbye to my district was a wreck as well. Those studs. All yall are gonna miss seeing our crazy pictures. But saying goodbye to my trio was just THE WORST. I hate crying in front of people and.... well i cried in front of EVERYONE. Thanks a lot. But Sister Ballard and Sister Palmer are gonna KILL it. im grateful to be leaving my home in such good hands.
The drive to Lynn Haven was like 4.5 hours. So long. But it was fun because Sister Morley and I drove with the other 2 sisters in our district, Sister Scoffield and Sister Homer. So i got to know ALL the sisters in my district, on a 4 hour car ride. Ill tell you if you want to know someone go on a roadtrip with them haha. So fun. When we got home we got right to it. Ive spent the week meeting people, introducing myself, (My name is Sister Benson, Im from Provo, Utah, ive been out a little over a year, i just came from Gainesville, FL) and getting used to Lynn Haven! Life is much slower here than it is in Gainesville. Theres more southern accents, which i adore, and less traffic. The bay is surrounding us which is fun. Life is good.
BUT CHURCH ON SUNDAY WAS SO SAD. I walked in and waited for all my young women to come up, for jokes to be made and hugs to be given. But i wasnt in Gainesville. So that was really hard and sad :(( I know ill learn to love this ward just as i have Waycross and Gainesville, but the beginning is always hard because.... youre not home. And church is home. So that was rough but we'll get there.
All together it was an awesome, wild, rollercoaster week. Im happy to be here. Excited for new adventures. I love yall! I invite you to sign up for the Light the World text reminders this week and to focus on the REAL reason for Christmas this year. Our Savior Jesus Christ!! Where would we be without him. <3
Really quick i have to introduce Sister Morley or my mom will kill me. Shes from Price, Utah, shes been out 16 months... so ill probably be with her when she goes home next transfer. She is super hard working and awesome!! We are getting to know each other and having fun doing it. Im stoked for this transfer with her!!
LOVE YALL!!!
