A Halloween Miracle
Amanda Gardner <amanda.gardner@missionary.org>
This week was filled with SO many miracles!! My testimony that God is our loving Heavenly Father and is intimately involved in each and every one of our lives has grown so much.
Some miracles:
- our social media page sent out 44 referrals to missionaries this week!!! Our goal was 42, and the highest we've ever done was 39, so with much prayer and diligence we were able to see miracles!! Each and every one of these people is searching for the gospel in their lives and we get the opportunity to help then find it and come to Christ. It's pretty amazing
- our new friend angel!! This week we had exchanges with Woodburn and I was leading out the Spanish area! Sister Gooch, the one that came to my area knew enough Spanish to bear her testimony, but that was it, so I had to do all of the lessons and Spanish basically by myself! It was amazing to see how God gives us the words we need exactly when we need them. We were skirting to a lesson with our friend isabel and alvaro who want to get baptized and we show up to their house, but arvalo's Tio is literally giving him a haircut right their in the kitchen... so isabel said to come back in 15 minutes haha. We didn't really know what to do since I've only been here in Tualatin for 2 weeks, so we knock on their neighbor, a former (friend) and someone answers the door!! It turns out Pedro, the formerly taught man that lived there had moved, and angel had arrived literally 3 days ago and was interested in going to a church! We shared a message with him, gave him a book of mormon and our number and he said he would reach out!!! Such a cool miracle!
- we had zone conference this week where the theme was stand tall, stand forever. I know that as we live the Doctrine of Christ everyday our Savior Jesus Christ can change us and help us become who God wants us to be. There were so many messages that I knew God wanted me to hear and I've loved applying all of the things I learned!!
- last but not least, when we were on exchanges we had a chapel tour with our new friends Mario and his daughter Connie. He had called us wanting to go to church this week so we set up a chapel tour. We learn a little bit about them and that they moved here from Chile about a year ago. Then, as we walk in the door the first people we see in the church setting up for the halloween party are the Leon's! A family in the branch from Santiago chile!!! God is SO good!! Mario and Connie were so prepared and we invited them to be baptized and they said yes they want to be!!!
We really can be instruments in God's hand when we attune ourselves to the Spirit, treasure up his word and live His gospel. I love this work! I know that Jesus Christ lives, God lives and gathering His covenant people is the greatest work we can do on this earth today!!
Thank you all for your love and support, I'm sending hugs your way and hope you are all having such an amazing halloween!
