Growing Pains

Cooper Acor <cooper.acor@missionary.org>

¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos!

Well transfers are this week. I am leaving San Isidro! I was not expecting to be leaving but I am super excited for this opportunity. I am going to Caaguazú! It is right in the middle of Paraguay. A little in the middle of nowhere. Super campo is what we call it. Just means not much city, and also there is a lot of the other language called Guaraní. Lots of weird names that all of you are probably pronouncing wrong. My new companion is Elder Richards and we have the same time in the mission. We both just finished our training. We are both going to learn a lot. We both have three months experience with Spanish.

Alright now to what happened this week. This Tuesday we met a guy watering his plants and he called us over. He asked us where we are from and I told him I was from Springville Utah. Then he started asking me all these questions in English about how Utah is and about football. Turns out this guy lived in Utah when he was seventeen and played football in Richfield it was so cool to be able to talk to him just about football and about Utah he loved it. Later that night we were at a member's house and I kept seeing these little lights in the air. Turns out Paraguay has fireflies! This was the first time in my life I have ever seen fireflies. It was so cool. That night I also ate sopa Paraguaya for the first time and it was so good. It is like just really yummy cornbread that is all I can explain about it. Then I got to go on divisions with Elder Rindlisbacher. He has less than me and I went to his area. It was crazy I had to lead the conversations and we actually were able to teach a bit. We also found some people and they called us over to play volleyball so that was super fun. Then the next day for our branch night I was able to play volleyball. I have not played in a bit so that was fun. Then on Saturday we were able to do some visits with our branch president and that was super fun. He is super funny and he was really great with all of the inactive members in the branch and he really wants to get them activated.

Well with these new transfers I have been thinking a lot. My new comp and I have the same time so this is going to be interesting. What another missionary said is that I will have growing pains. I think that that is a great phrase. It is going to be difficult and frustrating sometimes but I am going to grow some more and become a much better missionary. We are going to have to work off each other's strengths and weaknesses. It is going to be a blast.

That is it for this week. Sad to say goodbye to my first area but moving on is important and I am so ready to take on this new area! Love you all and hope that you guys have an amazing week! God loves you!

Love Elder Acor
