week 38: ...be nice. ft snoop

shout out to uncle rob for the song that gets me through it sometimes.

this week was a little tricky for me self esteem wise. i think we all have those days when "being nice" seems really hard. Those days when everything we do seems to be wrong, and all that we look like could be better. theres always someone with more memorized scriptures, better at starting conversations with random people, seemingly more in-tune with the Spirit. Or maybe someone just has cooler shoes, more money, or a happier looking family. We all have these days, we all have these things. We are all sons and daughters of God. Each of us. We all have divine infinite worth. Its easy to believe that on paper. but when it comes down to it and you're looking in the mirror thinking hmm... maybe i SHOULDNT have eaten all 10 of those tacos, it is HARD to be nice. So what do we do? obviously we follow Snoops sound advice. be nice. duh :) Yes! and no. Because unfortunately- but also kind of fortunately- Snoop Dogg doesnt know everything. But i know someone who does! and Hes like..... way more famous than Snoop. Its our Heavenly Father! And just like be nice, God has a phrase like that too. "Love your neighbor LIKE UNTO YOURSELF." He doesnt say love your neigbor more than you could ever love youself cause their house is bigger and their hair is better and they probably are better than you at chess too oh whats the point. Nope. God doesnt say that. He says love them like you love yourself. So maybe we need to learn to love ourselves more, to be able to fulfil that commandment- that GREAT commandment- that our loving Father in Heaven has given us. Sometimes we need to take a look in the mirror and say... be nice. Cause thats how it all starts. Love.

(This is Snoop Dogg, not to be confused with Snoopy the beagle.  The Lyrics are below*)

Anyways, thats what i feel like needed to be said this week. :) We had a great week here in gainesville and the work moves forward. Keep praying, for you and for me. We both need it i promise :)

ps. go listen to the song. from what i remember its a missionary appropriate song for me to be suggesting. yes, even with snoop. but also dont quote me on that if its a no good song lol. ;)

Be Nice
Song by Black Eyed Peas

Be nice
Be nice
Be nice
Be nice
I just wanna be happy
I don't wanna feel nasty
I'm tryna turn my vibration around so I can feel fantastic
Talking to myself in the mirror, telling me to cheer up
Everyone around got tears of a clown
And it's so cold like Siberia
But I do not want negative energy
If you get what you give, give me positivity (give it to me)

(Chorus)
Hey, be different
Be nice
Just smile, I promise it'll change your life
Hey, be different
Be nice
Just smile, I promise it'll change your life
Be nice, be nice
Be nice, be nice
The love you give is the love you get
So be nice and change your life
Be nice
Be nice

I got a new direction
I ain't got no time for stressin'
I don't wanna carry no bad vibration
I don't wanna be in depression
I just wanna be cool, live my life without the problems
Everybody tryna push me down to the ground
But I ain't living life from the bottom
'Cause I do not want negative energy
If you get what you give, give me positivity (give it to me)

Chorus

If we could all just find a way to fly away
To slip into a brighter days (say what?)
One step, so def', so right, go left, and do it to 'em right away
I'm talking to all of my leaders
We should just pow-wow, and all of us meet up
And fight for each other, not one another
And when we talk, be nice to each other
Be cordial, be glad, be happy not sad
Stay in your bag
And all of my bangers, that bang with their flag
Whether Cripp, or Blood, be good to each other
Be hood to each other
En la raza
Mi casa, su casa
On and on, love that we givin' keeps rollin' on
Rollin' on

Chorus
