¡Hola mi familia y a mis amigos!
Another week of MTC is under my belt. I can tell you that I am ready to go to the Mexico MTC. I will be flying out this Tuesday morning and I should be arriving that night. I am really ready to just start really diving into the Spanish language and learning. I am also super excited to finally meet my companion and my district. Being in online classes with them throughout these two weeks has been so fun but I am ready to meet them and get to know them. I have heard great things about the Mexico MTC and I am very excited to experience them for myself.
I started my week by going to three farewells this last Sunday. It was so cool to see all my friends experiencing the same things I experienced the week prior. I am very excited to hear about their missions and also compare our amazing experiences. This week was a lot like last week. The same schedule of a morning class, lunch break, then an afternoon class. That is what I did from Monday through Friday, but it went by very quickly. It still surprises me that nine hours of online class can go by so quickly but I know that it is because this is the right thing to be doing. I am paying attention and trying to learn as much as possible before I go to Mexico. I have learned so many different lessons and received so much guidance on what I can do when I am on my mission. My language while it is still very slow I can tell it is increasing and I am learning more day by day. Also one of our morning teachers Hermano Santiago is leaving us and will not be teaching us in Mexico. He is going to be a lawyer so good luck to him but I will miss him as our teacher because he was amazing!
This week was especially awesome when it came to getting closer to my district and my companion. Compared to last week this was a night and day difference. Everyone was so much more willing to share. Getting to go into breakout rooms with each Elder and just get to know them more personally is so amazing. During class we would share jokes and laugh our heads off at the dumbest things. You could not imagine what you think is funny when you have been sitting at a computer screen all day. Me and my companion Elder Allred also have our companionship study at night where we just talk about how the day went and talk about what we liked and disliked. This has really helped us build our friendship and now we know so much about each other. I truly have the best district.
For some of you non Spanish speakers out there you are probably wondering what the title of my email means. Well I will tell you! Hacer más (pronounced acer más, I am learning a little bit) in English means to do more. During one of our morning classes our lesson was about the three principles of The Gift of Tongues. It goes 1. Love the People 2. Open your Mouth 3. Work Diligently. I want to focus on the third principle: working diligently and how doing more can help us accomplish this. I want to share an amazing experience I had at my setting apart when I became a missionary. My stake president invited everyone in my family to give me a piece of advice for my mission. While everyone gave me something amazing that I will absolutely use on my mission what my Grandpa Acor told me really stuck with me. He told me that any problem that I may have in life or on my mission can be fixed with hard work. I really took that to heart. When we were talking about working diligently, doing more came to mind. Any issues like not understanding the language? Study more, "Do More". I'm not getting along with my companion? Talk with them more and work at it, "Do More". Are you having trouble finding people to teach on your mission? Go through the area book again, talk with members, talk to random people on the street, "Do More". I want this to become my motto for the mission. It stuck with me so much I immediately took out a note card and wrote "Hacer Más" in front of my computer so that I can always remember to do more. I want to look back and remember that anytime I am struggling with something I have to think to myself can I be doing more, and 100% of the time I can always be doing more. So I invite all of you reading this email to do more this week. In any aspect of your life that you may be struggling in. Look at your problem and ask yourself what can I "Do More".
I love you all and I hope that you have an amazing week! Next time I will be emailing you guys I will be in Mexico and my new P-Day will be Wednesday.
Adios!
Love Elder Acor
