Sister Benson: 7/18/22
This week we had transfer calls! And yes its true!! Ive been asked by President Elbert to train a new missionary here in Gainesville. Sister Doxey is getting transfered to a tiny town called Starke, Florida. With about three stoplights and one cop that pulls everyone over. She seems excited!! So prayers for me and for the new sister. I wont find out who Im getting until Thursday at transfers! Wild.
This week was a good one. We met a wonderful amazing woman named Nyaja. She requested a bible from us. So we went over and gave her a bible and talked about her relationship with God. She has such beautiful faith, and wants to come to church! So that was a good first contact, and then the second time we met with her we introduced the Book of Mormon!! And she was so so excited about it because now she had MORE ways to learn about Christ!! We love Nyaja :))
On Friday Sister Doxey and I were once again asked to fill in for the sunday speaker. But at least we had more notice this time!! Thats what I thought at least. On Friday night I wrote a talk. I felt like it was a great talk. When I woke up saturday morning... i knew it wasnt the right talk. So i wrote another. Then i felt like that wasnt it either so i wrote another. I went to bed saturday night with my talk written..... Sunday morning i knew it STILL wasnt right!! SO i rewrote my whole talk before/during ward council then gave it! I spoke about our Saviors divine atonement using hymns from the hymnbook! I invite yall to pay more attention to the words of the hymns as you sing them :)) they truly are powerful and beautiful sermons.
something fun we did this week was sister doxey had the awesome idea to start sending like.... yoga videos to our district group chat every night and everyone having to send a video of them trying it! It has been a source of PURE JOY for us. this district is great.
So yay!! The mission life is great, always changing :) Wish us luck!!
