Sister Benson: 3/21/22
Hello wonderful people!! This week has been a good one... and a really sad one. Obviously.... my bellllooooovvvedddd Slashby has left me for Lake City and that was... probably the ugliest thing that she ever could have done to me. But its fine. Lake City just doesnt know how blessed they are to have her.
So this week some crazy things happened!! Like... Karley. :) Yall remember our friend Karley? Well we finally taught her the restoration! And she listened so intently and agreed with a lot of things. But she was unsurprisingly hesitant about some of the more... supernatural things. Having grown up in the church, God and Jesus Christ showing themselves to a fourteen year old boy in the middle of the woods... seemed pretty normal to me. And now its not a story to me anymore. It is reality. Jesus Christ and God the Father truly did come to Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove. And I know that because the Holy Ghost has testified to me of its truth. And I will never again doubt it. BUT i do understand why Karley would hesitate. Dont you? But she is more than willing and excited to learn more. And the cherry on top? We finally met her husband. AND he sat in on the lesson!! Very exciting!!
The next exciting thing.... remember James? Our friend that wasnt progressing so we dropped him but then he started progressing?? Well this week Sister Swain and I brought Ernie over to meet him! They got along super well. And then we taught the plan of salvation. And it was amazing!! The Spirit was so strong. At the end I said James, what kingdom do you want to go to? And he said the Celestial. (or celestrial is actually what he said) And I said okay what do you need to do to get there? And he said.... get baptized. And I was like YES! And he goes but coffee- and I went James were you willing to give up things because of the army? Because they asked you to? And he said yes. So I said okay well are you willing to give up things because God asked you to? And he goes... Yes. Yes i am. So then i asked him to be baptized. The last saturday in April, April 30th. :) The Spirit was STRONG. He said yes for the first time. He had told us no so many times and finally getting a yes was just amazing.
So this week has been awesome!! SO successful. We're super stoked to be here in Waycross. And I think Sister Swain is enjoying it. Its definitely very different from busy downtown Jax. I love yall!!
