Sister Neel: 2/14/22

 

♡♡♡ Happy valentines day you guys!!! ♡♡♡

Unfortunately there's not much to update on from last week because your girl got covid :(( we've been in quarantine all week and have been recovering the best we can. Thankfully I was the only one who was sick but my symptoms were bad enough I didn't start improving until Saturday evening, which thankfully after a week long quarantine, and a negative test Saturday evening and Sunday morning, it officially put us out and we are on the grind again! It's been a long week but here are some fun highlights:

☆ our sweet branch has dropped off so much food every night and kept us well fed. Its been a mini miracle 

☆ Sister Maurer was pretty worried and the first call she makes to check in on me, she gasped when she heard my voice. "Oh Sister Neel you sound awful!!" Hahaha but she was so sweet. We had a 30 minute phone call just catching up and her shedding her love on me while I was sick. She proceeded to call multiple times throughout the week. I love her more than words could express 

☆ my companions taught a bunch of amazing lessons to some of our progressing people and a highlight was faith! She had her sister join on the zoom call and taught her the entire restoration and how to pray. It was the most heart touching moment for them and they basically tackled me once I had woken up, so excited to share this news! Speaking of which my companions have been the more Christ-like and patient people I could spend a quarantine with. They never complained once and surprised me with sweet letters scattered all over my dresser, breakfast in bed and plenty of moments where we laughed our heads off. They made everything better 

☆ we had interviews via phone call haha and president maurer and I were able to have a heart to heart conversation as to finding out why the Lord needs me back in Little Washington. It was profound to hear his counsel let alone his approval for me in what I've been accomplishing in myself and in my areas. It's hard to explain the admiration I have for him but I feel so blessed!! 

☆ our toilet straight up stopped flushing. It wouldn't work no matter how many times we played around with the thing, so for the last 3 days of quarantine we had to drive to the church just to use the bathroom :)) that made for some interesting times haha

☆ we joined zone conference over zoom, pretty bummed I couldn't see a lot of missionary friends but we got bombarded during lunch with all our peeps running up to the camera to say hello. Sister Maurer made an announcement that I was sick and this was my fifth quarantine of the mission which she believes I now hold the highest record in the mission...yay for me XD. She was so sweet and came up to the camera to blow us a kiss. We felt really included despite the fact we weren't there. President kept making jokes about us or the APs would comment how jealous they were that we got to eat and watch XD. I sure do love this mission of mine and all the people included in it. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else 

☆ the weather has been 70 degrees of higher which has provided some nice days by the water or on the lounge chairs on the porch. Grateful for that! 

☆ my companions set off the smoke alarm :)) all I had to do was lift my head off my pillow and I could see the smoke in the kitchen. It took a while to finally get the alarm to shut off and with our windows being broken we couldn't open any of them except for the laundry room and bathroom so ventilation took a hot second to kick in haha

Anyways there's some fun happenings of the week:)) i love you all and I know the Savior does too! May we always follow His perfect example and see others as He sees us. When our hearts are full of charity we will notice a greater abundance of the Spirit and a more fulfilling life as we center our love around the  Savior. I'm thankful for this day that we have to feel the love around us and give thanks for individuals we just couldn't imagine life without. I love you all and I'm grateful to share a life with yall!
